Are you happy with your Nissan?

I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me on it, with the S you still get the USB. It's in the glovebox, where the SL has it above the gear shift. Also I don't know how much it means to you but the S uses a regular key where the SV and SL have the remote keyless and also has the push button ignition. I love not having to search for my keys and fiddle with the keys in the dark. I just go up to the car and push the little button on the door handle to unlock it. Once inside you just have to push the brake pedal and push the ignition button. It is so convenient, I would spend the extra for that feature alone.

Oh I totally forgot about the intelligent key system! I'm hunting around, there is an SV that has most of what I want for 3k more than the S I can 'live with.' But I have only looked at prices at Carmax, I need to talk to some dealerships and see what they can do.

You're probably not going to get a huge deal at a dealership. The car is still really new and hard to come by. It's definately better now then when I bought mine though. I was real picky about the colors I wanted, I wanted the red interior, and had to wait a month to get mine. When I bought mine no dealerships had any and they were only getting a few a week. Now my dealership has several on hand. The less picky you are though the easier it would be. Can't wait to see what you end up with.

Honestly the drive options don't do a lot for me...terrible answer I know. I am most interested in the USB interface for my iphone, which is available w/ the sport package on the SV, and the heated leather seats- but where I am looking I am seeing about a 6k difference between the S & SL and I'm thinking I can deal with a less cool interface for my music and an aftermarket seat heater for that....but it WOULD be really nice.

When my DH bought his minivan (not a nissan, but a Toyota Sienna) he got the leather heated seats. I b(*&(*&ch and complained about the extra $1000 that I didn't think was necessary. But, believe me, every winter since then I am so thankful we have the heated seats. EVERY TIME I get in the car with DH in the winter and turn on the heat I say, "I am soooo glad we decided to get these heated seats!" ;) It has become quite a little joke between us.

In addition, I have the interface in my glovebox for my iPod (not in a Nissan, but in my VW Jetta). I really love having the interface and on my Jetta there is a screen for the radio, etc. and you can see all the iPod files right on there. No need to go on your iPod to look for a song. I don't know if it is like that on the Juke, but I find that to be really useful. It sure beats the cassette tape interface thing we have to use in DH's car to play the iPod through the car speakers.

I agree with the other posters on the Intelligent Key. It is so nice not to have to deal with keys at all.

The Rogues are also very nice to drive. For me, it was between the Altima Hybrid and the Rogue, but the gas mileage on the Hybrid made the decision for me. I still like the Rogue, but am glad I'm getting significantly better in-town mileage.

In our current vehicle, we have heated seat covers purchased from amazon and I really like them.

The Juke I drove last night has a touch screen interface that works very similarly to the way the iphone does. It was very nice.

DH bought a 2012 SL Juke. He traded it in for something else 3 months later. His gripe was the gas mileage. He bought it thinking it got decent gas mileage. He is very careful with cars, but was still off a bit from the expected mileage. If this is important to you, it is something to think about. The problem is being discussed online.

He says go to the juke forum. There are a lot of discussions.

Other than that he was happy with it. It just was a deal breaker since that was a reason to move into it.

It was a very different car, but I did enjoy driving it.

Well thank you for the heads up on the mileage...now I'm not sure what to do. I LOVED driving it but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who has a mileage problem and who doesn't!

I've read all the posts about the fuel mileage on jukeforums and yes there are a few that are not getting the stated mileage but most people are getting within the range. I drive about 3/4 highway miles and 1/4 city. My daily commute is 42 miles each way and I go up 3000 feet in elevation and then back down. I am averaging just over 27 miles per gallon. If I drive really hard the gas mileage goes down. If I drive faster than 80 mph the gas mileage goes down so I think it is more on how you drive.

Just curious- have you figured it yourself or are you trusting the car to tell you? I'm worried that people don't know they have a problem b/c they are trusting the car.

I agree about trusting the car, it's not as accurate. I figure it out myself. The car does have a thing in the dash that tells you, my experience with it is it averages 1-2 mpg lower than what I actually get.

DH says just to keep it in mind. His was 8 - 10 miles off. He drives a little over 30 miles each way to work. He drives interstate the whole way at off times. We live in a flat part of the country. His was not under the recall so he decided he couldn't live with the mileage.

Do shop around on price. He found a dealer willing to go $300 over invoice. We were able to get a very good price when he traded it in. When they tried to lowball him, he pointed out that only one dealership in our area would sell them without a bump up sticker price.

I just want you to be aware ... By no means do I think that it means no one should buy one. I just think people should be aware in case gas mileage can be a dealbreaker.

DH says not to let the gas mileage issue cloud your judgement that much. It really is a hit or miss issue. He has said many times that he would have no problem recommending a Juke to anybody that is in the market for a smaller SUV. They drive great, come pretty well equipped for the price and they are not like anything else on the road. If your budget allows, spring for the SL model. You will appreciate the extra goodies :drive:

I've had several Nissan's (currently have a 2012 Altima) and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them all. Highly recommend!

I have a 2000 altima with 176k miles and i love it. It runs great and have only had to do regular matinen e on it and replace a few minor things here and there. The only expensive work i had to have done was the catalytic convertor about 2 years ago.

we had a maxima, and now have an altima (my parents gave it to our ds - we wouldn't actually buy another nissan).
we have loved all our jeeps, our dd's hyundai elantra, and dh's new dodge nitro (used to own a dodge ram). we haven't had any major problems with any car, EXCEPT the nissans.

personally, i doubt we would get another nissan, even if it was given to us - too many problems, and their service is horrible at its best:guilty:.

Just want to pipe in that my dad has always been a Nissan guy. He used to commute 2 hours to work each day and put a lot of miles on his cars. Each of the 3 he's had got up to 200k miles with no problems. He only traded them in because my mother was afraid they'd break down, even though they never did! And he is not one to perform regular scheduled maintenance on his cars, either.

I just bought an '08 Altima in April and so far I love it. I has 48k miles on it but still runs like new. It's a 4 cylinder but if you'd told me it was a 6 I'd beleive you, it's got that much "omph" to it. The intellegent key system is awesome! Not having to deal with digging out my keys when dealing with the baby carrier, car seat, and diaper bag is priceless! Plus it's just a sharp looking car.

Time will tell as far as reliability is concerned but if it stays hassle-free I'm a Nissan convert!

It all started in 1985 when my parents bought a new Nissan Maxima. That car finally got donated after it hit 285,000 miles!!! I :lovestruc LOVED :lovestruc that car!!

So, fast forward to graduating from college and buying a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE - oh yeah!!! We traded it in when DD was born for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, which I also love!!!! We also have a Toyota Camry and literally everytime I get in it, I miss my Maxima :sad1: In 2 years, we are planning on buying a Nissan Armada (hopefully a 2012 used model). Clearly, gas mileage isn't an issue for us if we are going to have 2 SUVs :rotfl2:

We've had great luck with Nissans!!! I wouldn't hesitate!:cheer2:

I have had a Juke SV for about 8 months and love it. My son bought a Juke S last June and after driving it I bought one myself.

The mileage issue depends on the temperature outside. In the winter I got 22-24 mph. Now that the warmer weather is here I am getting 26-28. Mostly highway driving.

Definately go for the SV. The intellikey, autoclimate control, ICon system and sunroof are well worth the extra money. My son regrets not stepping up to the SV.

BTW I paid below invoice. If you have good credit you can make your deal, not theirs. Be prepared to walk out if necessary.
