Are you good at wrapping presents?

I love to wrap and make them look really good. My gma taught me how to wrap right. No raw edges and such, I also like the ribbon bows. I even let my dd wrap my gifts from dh and then I put bows on them. LOL

i LOOOOOVE wrapping gifts, but am by no means good at it. mine also take on the "drunk 2 year old" look, but no one seems to mind.

If your gift doesnt fit in a gift bag, you are not getting it

I'm not terrible but I'm not Martha Stewart either. But DH doesn't care what his presents look like, of course he wraps about the same as me so it's all good.

Yes, I am good at wrapping presents. I love having pretty fluffy bows. In years past when the kids were younger, I'd go to my MIL's to wrap her gifts. That took 3 days!

I had to bring this back up. I just wrapped a gift for my dd birthday tomorrow. It was a fairly big box, and it looks soooooooooooooooo bad! My dog could have done a better job :lmao:. I think I am hopeless!!

I'm horrible at it. I hate using a lot of tape and I don't have the patience to spend 20 minutes on one present so they look horrible.

I am a terrible wrapper, I have learned to accept it.

Isn't there a rule about, if you use more than 3 pieces of tape, you used too many.

i am really good at this, I make my own bows. I buy coordinated papers so they match my tree and wrap each thing carefully, then the bow and always something extra like a Candy Cane or embellishment I love wrapping and for me the presentation is part of the gift.

I do find that buying nice quality wrapping paper like HallMark helps and when I buy papers that are simple, I stick with red and green and look for papers that don't have a lot going on. That lets me bow shine and lets the embellishment be the center of attention. With a busy paper, it tends to get lost.

Anyone want their gifts wrapped....common over! We can have a glass of wine and I will wrap them while we talk Disney!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I'll bet my wrapping looks far worse than yours. I either use too much paper or not nearly enough. I still haven't mastered the skill of using scissors correctly (Cannot cut in a straight, even line to save my life) and I always seem to run out of tape. "Why is this present wrapped in duct tape ... Electrical tape ... Band-Aids?"

You sound like me! I make all of my bows. When I had a children's store I was playing around one day with regular satin poly ribbon. I cut lengths and then ran scissors along it like with curling ribbon. To my surprise, it curled beautifully. Then I cut each curl in half( later I realized it's easier to cut the ribbon first) and tied a bunch to the top of a present. People would always come up to me and say "We know when a present is from Sugar, because the package is wrapped so beautifully." To a wrapping perfectionist like me, that was the best compliment ever!:rotfl:

There's a company called paper mart which sells wholesale. It's the paper that nice dept stores like Saks and Neiman's use. I just went to the site and entered fictitious info and it never asked for company sales tax number so anyone should be able to order. It asks for a store name so if you're interested just put Disney Scraps or your name or whatever.

There are large reams but a lot of the papers also come in 100' cutter rolls-the paper is in a box like aluminum foil with the cutter part of the box. It's great and so easy. They also sell ribbon, boxes, etc wholesale. There are other companies that say they're wholesale but they can't touch these prices.

I'm not affiliated with this company in any way but when I saw someone else who loves wrapping as much as I do, I wanted to share. Here's the link:

If I wanted to be good, I could. ;)

I know how to hide the seam and everything.

But sometimes, I'm too lazy to trim the ends, so when those get folded and taped, it looks like my gift either has ears, is wearing earmuffs, or I thought it would be a good place to attach the wrapped batteries the gift doesn't need. LOL!

But the kids don't care.

That's me too! I love wrapping things and putting a nice finishing touch on them as well:goodvibes

I love to wrap presents.

I like each one to look different so I have lots of ribbon (real fabric, not paper), bows etc.

I also like to put small decorative items on packages. It could just be a candy cane or other treat or it could be an ornament, lip gloss, nail polish, etc.

I wrap all the gifts except my own. This year that's around 50 some. My husband only has to wrap mine. He's very good at it but very sloooow!

This sounds like me - several years ago (except for the 50+ gifts ;)). I used to LOVE to spend time making every single one just right. Then life got busier, and I moved on to sacks whenever possible. :)

When DD got old enough to take over wrapping the presents, she asked to do it because she was quite sure she could do better than my sacks - and she was right. She wraps beautifully - even better than I used to do. She found the suggestion of putting something in a sack to be beneath her. ;)

She's now been married two years and life has gotten busier. I noticed that most of her gifts were in sacks this year... :rolleyes1
