We will be at WDW from 1/2 - 1/11. We are divided as to whether or not we want to use the extended evening EMH. We think the parks will be much fuller in the evenings than at 8:00 in the morning. What do you think?

Well in May the parks were pretty empty during the extended hours- we walked on just about everything. The shops and restaurants were open, too- we were the only ones eating at Columbia Harbor House.

Why not just go to the evening extra magic hours and if it looks crowded, then leave and go to another park? -Steph

We were there in May and took advantage of the evening hours. It was fantastic. The only park with any sort of wait was MK. And that was only for a few key rides like Winnie. I think they even had Fast Pass up and running for these attractions. Most rides and attractions were walk ons to a 10 min. wait max. Characters were out for meet and greets. It was not crowded at Epcot. (We didn't do anything with AK or MGM.) It is worth getting an armband and checking it out. We had a blast!

I love that the hours are extended at night. We are not early risers during vacation so we have never done an early entry magic hour. I can understand that the morning hour is great for people with smaller children though.

The main reason I stay onsite is to take adavantage of the extra park time. I plan to use both morning and evening EMH.

Do they publicize the extra Magic evening hours? I didn't know that it was still going on. We will be there Feb 21 thru 28. How can I tell if we would get any extra magic? ( I'm hoping - I know it's going to be really crowded so every advatage will help!) ( And I am so NOT a morning person!!)

We are going January 12-16, but we leave before dawn on Sunday so we are only getting Wed-Sat in the parks. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the crowds will be OK on Wednesday for MK evening hours. We might do the evening hours at Epcot on Thursday if we aren't too tired from MGM. It also depends on how the Epcot hours are structured. If WS stays open until midnight then it would be worth the trip over there, but if the only extension is FW until 10 PM then we will skip it.

If we haven't had enough MK we might go to early entry on Friday and hop to Epcot after.

We are definitely doing AK early entry on Saturday, but only to try to get our ducks in a row before our breakfast PS. I am hoping to ride Dinosaur before we eat!

i never knew they had evening hours, except for the MK "E" ticket nights.....

we never use the early morning hours other than to be sure to go to a different park than the one with early hours on that day..

The extended evenning hours were piloted in May and will be going prime time in January. I have small kids and also am an early riser so I doubt we would take advantage of the extended evenning hours, but can certainly see their appeal to the teenage/20-something crowd or anyone who doesn't want to be overrun by strollers. I think the new policy is a good compromise, accommodating the differing needs of people. Now each park will have one morning and one evenning for resort guests to enjoy. I'll be curious to see how this changes park attendance!

We were there in May during testing, and the parks didn't seem crowded to me. I am going to take advantage of both morning and evening, especially when the parks close early because of low times.

I'm looking forward to doing both. We have often taken advantage of EE, esp early in the trip while the workday internal alarm clock is still waking us up at 5:30 AM.
We loved E-Nights & the EMH sound alot like a free E-Night - I am revamping some of our schedule to accomodate the new program. I have a teenager & we are often looking for things to do later at night.I think EMH will work out great for us.

I still haven't decided what we'll do. We will probably use the AK evening hours as that falls on the day I had already set for AK in my itinerary. The first day this came out I was near tears and had such a headache trying to figure out how I could make this new schedule work for us. I decided I will just go with my original intinerary. But since the new 5 day pass will be about $100 cheaper for my family than the 4 day hopper that I had planned to purchase, I'm going to buy it and we'll have an extra day. I have a "rest" day in my itinerary that we were going to use to go to Fort Wilderness, Downtown Disney, but if we want to go to MK on Wed evening (which was my original "rest" day) we can. Even if we don't use the 5th day of the pass, I'm still saving money over the 4 day hopper. :sunny: :mickeybar

I like the idea of getting to spend more time in the parks at night. IMO, this is the most magical time. Unfortunately, I have not spent much time in any of the parks but Epcot at night. When I go, as it's getting dark, we are establishing our position for Fantasmic or fireworks at nightfall ad do not get to experience the main park experience. I hope that they are still doing this in 2007!!!!! (see countdown clock) :flower1:

I plan not to use the extra hours because I am buying the non hoping tickets and I am thinking that the parks with the special hours will become packed on those days and without being to hop it would get too crowded for me! So I am going to the park without any special hours because I think if it is less crowded I will be able to do more in less hours than a park that is more crowded and only certain rides will be available anyways during those extended hours. :earseek:

In all our many trips to WDW, we have never made it to early entry. The option of the late hours is a great addition for us. We'll definitely be taking advantage of those, but first we'll have to pull ourselves away from Epcot every evening. ;)

We'll be giving the nights a try.

We tried the mornings the first year the program was started and have avoided them ever since.

I know we'll still avoid MK on Saturdays. I'm very glad Sunday am is no longer EMH. We used to love those quiet Sunday mornings.

I'm going to milk the Mouse for everything I can get! I'm told this will be a slow week from Mon., 1/3 on so I'm looking forward to a lot of walk-ons. The only thing that will put me off is low temperatures.

I'll be there solo from 1/7-1/12, walking in the 1/2 marathon, so I intend to use the extended hours as much as possible, especially since I may be too sore after the 1/2 to visit much. My family will come join me late 1/12, staying until 1/17. They are not early morning people, so we'll take advantage of the evening hours that portion of the trip.

We're more interested in the morning EMH, but we'll use the evening ones a couple times I'm sure! :D We'll be there Feb. 6-18 with our 3 little boys.

As West Coast WDW fans, the morning EMHs were never really practical for us as it was hard enough making to parks by the normal opening time. The evening hours will be nice. We also tend to go during the off season so it will be nice to see other parks in the evening.
