I personally love it when I receive those class action postcards in the mail! I barely have to do anything, I make a small bit of money, and I’m sticking it to the man! I received one recently and when I glanced at it and saw the words “Wells Fargo” and “class action” I became very excited because we’ve had a total of four mortgages through them. Big money, right? No, just about $10.75. One home required flood insurance and Wells Fargo owned the company that assessed properties for the flood insurance and did not disclose that relationship. Something like that anyway. I’ll still happily take my money.
I got to be a part of another one when some nice lady brought suit against a car dealership that it turns out sold me a used car that had been previously repossessed but did not disclose that fact as required by state law. I was already two states away by that point and had sold the car five years previous, but who cares? Nice lady’s actions got me $500! Thank you, nice lady! And I’m always amazed at how those postcards find you years later at your current address.
It’s funny to me. We (as Americans in general) all complain about so much that is wrong with big business, and then when someone actually and successfully ‘catches’ them and they are forced to make restitution to their customers, someone on here complains about it. Thank you OP for the original link; I had previously been unaware of any site that aggregates current class action suits.
