Are you conservative or liberal?

Pretty new here, and just started poking around on this community board so I hope this doesn't provoke anyone, but I'm just curious how you'd label yourself if you had to - politically, socially, religiously, or however else.

Hopefully everyone can play nice!

I'm a conservative And don't worry about forgetting to add a poll option. People make mistakes...no big deal.

'none of the above' (or moderate for that matter). i have lots of very liberal views/opinions but i am conservative in voicing them. i'm also in favor of allot of what would be considered 'liberal' social programs but i'm hotly conservative on how they should be implemented (i blame that on working for 'social services' and seeing taxpayer money just 'flushed down the toilet' with programs that had maybe a good concept initialy but by the time they got 'bureacrated' to death or were decades old/out of step with current reality they were just a waste of time and money). i am VERY conservative on tax increases (again-i saw too much wasted money so i KNOW there are ways to cut spending if it realy comes to it), but i'm very liberal in believing if taxed that beyond basic health and safety we should also consider as 'minimum/mandatory' public services- libraries, parks and recc. for kids and at least some 'art education' in the public schools.

interesting topic and timely-a month or so ago dh and i were watching some news program and it was showing 'red' vs 'blue' states and giving kind of an overview of the way it influences the lives of people in them. after watching the extreemes on both sides i told dh when we move next year i'm hoping to find a nice 'purple' state.

I am hotly liberal on some issues and will stand side by side with the most conservative on other issues.

Which is why I choose to be an independent and not affiliate with either party.

I found it interesting that awhile back, somebody posted a link to one of those questionaires that will rank your views. I was 60% conservative, 20% liberal and 20% other.

I guess I'm moderate. I think Liberals need to get away from lifelong entitlement programs and stop looking to small businesses and millionaires for taxes (I'm a SAHM married to public school teacher so don't think I'm either a business owner or millionaire LOL). Conservatives need to get away from telling other people how to live - sexuality, religion and family planning are private endeavors.

I don't believe one side is more patriotic than the other.
