Are you back to work yet?

All of the big tech companies here in Seattle have told everyone to stay home until the Fall. I work for local government but they are following suit. I'll start showing up at the office a few days a week during the Summer if I feel like it. Otherwise we can work from home until at least November.

We've both worked the entire time...him at his office, me from home. My company did a trial run of the entire campus working from home March 18 and then told us to not come back. 🤷‍♀️

Last we were told, it will be July at the earliest.

Our county is still closed, but my dh and I have never stopped going into work (for essential businesses).

Washington State baffles me. Hit hard by coronavirus, all I saw yesterday was photos of people in Washington spending the weekend out and about with friends, lots of folks putting their boats in the water and taking neighbors and friends out on the water. No social distancing, people crammed in a boat. No masks. If I lived in Washington State I think I would be more careful

What college has stayed open through all of this?

I know a lot of college students who chose to stay in their off-campus apartments near campus to finish their online schooling, so many of them are just coming back home after classes are completed.

Off from work the latter part of March and all of April.

Beginning on May 1st have been going in to work.

Much easier drive without the rush hour traffic. Highways mostly empty. Remarkably, drivers still tailgating, cutting, and speeding at high rates.

Still working from home until (at least) mid-August here. I've been at home since March 13th.

My gym reopened so yes and no I am just in traing but it still counts in my book everyone starts somewhere

Still working from home. In my 10th week at home now. We were originally told about a month ago that we would probably move back to the offices between 5/25-6/11, but yesterday it was announced it will be late June most most likely before it can happen. But they also have said that if you need to continue to work at home due to yourself or a family member being high risk, you can (and will) continue to work at home as long as needed. I am borderline asthma. And I have 2 80+ year olds living in my household, so it will be awhile before I plan to return to the office.

Washington wasn’t actually hit that hard. They were first and they spiked early, but a lot of that was in nursing homes. They appear to have gotten a handle on things early. I don’t agree with lack of masks and social distancing though.

Yes. I think when this is all said and done we are going to see widely varying degrees of impact. People working shoulder to shoulder in meat packing and fruit packing plants were hit very hard. Those who work in office buildings less so. Seems like most people here are following the rules other than a few protesters at the capitol.

We've taken our fishing boat out, but we were the only two on board and no one else was at the landing when we put in/took out.

Why?

Yes our state was hit hard initially, but it’s really slowed. There are many counties (around 10) in WA that haven’t had a single case in 3 weeks. The county where my business is located hasn’t had a single case in over a week and they’ve not reported any deaths. I’m not sure which area you’re referencing (King county?) but many counties are very low risk right now. Even King county looks pretty good.

We spent Mother’s Day at our private beach. We had 3 separate households there. It was a gorgeous weekend so I understand why people were out and about on the water. I wasn’t worried, as I considered it very low risk.

ETA: Inslee allowed several counties to move onto Phase 2 based on the risk level and having no reported cases in 3 weeks. In those counties you’re allowed to be around limited people outside your household.

I've been WFH since March 16 with no end date in sight. Company has said all along that they won't follow the states' openign guidelines. They will open when they feel it's safe for their employees. Since we are in a risk adverse industry some (not in the know) have speculated maybe September. But I work onsite for our client at a military base and we haven't heard if they are opening soon. I doubt it though.

DBF was laid off at end of March so he's not working. DD is a waitress/bartender that was laid off but she was called back a few weeks ago when the restaurant she works opened up for takeout. She'd make more on UI but she wanted to get back to work.

Because it was the original epicenter of the U.S. Coronavirus outbreak. And because the mingling of separate households is still frowned upon. And if I was to take part in such a mingling, I sure would wear a mask. Too soon

Then no problem there. Just because the weather is nice doesn't mean people from different households should be out together in a relatively small boat. Just not safe.
