Are you averse to the 'new' 5-day pass only? Please read and comment...

Good job Jory, maybe we see some light at the end of that tunnel.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed and dont stop writing in to them.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the update!

Thanks so much, buzzgreyhairs and Susie63, I find it really helpful to know we are not alone in this quest to secure a Park Hopper pass for longer than 5 days. :goodvibes

I really do think it will come down to them seeing they need to change this, and soon.

Loyal guests don't want to be pushed out of the way :crowded:, and I think Disney will understand this.

I've noticed how much this thread has died down compared to last month, is anyone else concerned Disney will notice and think we are "excepting" the new policy?

If anyone else is still writing in and getting responses, please keep posting.. And thought/comments too.

Jory, what do you think?

I'm waiting to hear from my AAA travel agent tomorrow as well as once I have my plans solidified (restaurant plans, tours, BBB) etc. then I will write again. Although I had wondered the same thing but I know they receive a lot of feedback at the gate regarding this from people wanting to upgrade their tix as well as many liters on here that have written. Hopefully people are still giving their feedback to this as they come across the information.

I agree, this thread has died down compared to what it was before, and that was because the mods moved it to the Community boards, instead of keeping it in the planning boards. I respect and understand whatever decision they make, they have served all of us here so well, I would hate to argue with them about it. My point with hoping it could have stayed on the planning boards was basically that I felt if it were left there, it would be more visible to those who may not even yet be aware that the 6, 7, etc. day Park Hopper passes are no longer available, and it probably would have kept going very strongly. That being said, we are still gaining in numbers here, people are still obviously subscribing to this thread, and do take note of when new information is added, so that is very good!

Disney knows from each and every email that we are not giving up, and people are still making requests daily for the extended Park Hoppers, so I don't think that's a problem.

Thanks for your input!! :)

Yes, I really think they are, and even if it's the cast members at the ticket booths who listen to this over and over again, they will also let their supervisors know.

This is something Disney just really can not explain, nor can they provide a valid reason for why they can't respectfully honor our more than reasonable request, so I honestly feel change will come.

It doesn't look good (nor can it possibly be as profitable) for companies to be displeasing so many of their valued Park Guests who have proven to be so loyal to Disney. :sad2:

Thanks, Lurpee, for your constant attentiveness to this thread, it is very much appreciated!

Thanks Jory29. I'm new to the boards and the 'moving to the community boards" concept. In no way was I questioning the mods decision :)

Welcome to the DISboards, jen541!! Oh my gosh, I hope you didn't think I was thinking that - it was a valid question, and one that got me thinking.... if the 'bedbugs at such and such' are able to remain open on the planning boards, as that is a planning aspect to DISboarders trips, then why isn't this one, since it has to do with planning for a longer stay than a 5 day Park Hopper?

You raised a valid point IMO, and I thank you for that... I'm not sure what protocol is here on the boards, (where a thread should stay, or if it should be stickied) and I've been here for some time, a few years now, but I am (like so many others), so grateful for every little tidbit of info that I have received on these boards. :goodvibes

It's Disneyland I am disputing with (the discontinued ticket media of anything past a 5 day Park Hopper), and I am so glad that the DISboard moderators quickly jumped in and moderated when it looked like there was going to be some conflict. This allowed the thread to remain open, and as it is, many people are still coming here to view the thread, whether it be newcomers, or long term DISboard members. I am very appreciative that they have allowed this thread to remain open, so we can continue to express our thoughts and opinions.

You are very welcome to post your thoughts and ideas on this board, and I for one am glad you are on-board. There is such a wealth of information here. :yay:

When did they stop selling the six day PH's? My AAA lady called me today. She's working on my quote right now. I asked her about the PH's and she didn't know what I was talking about. She said she hadn't booked a trip since last month but she did a seven day then. She's supposed to get back to me by tomorrow do I will let you know!

Yes, please post when she hats back to you! Thanks :)

I've sent an email as well.
I really hate that the only way to visit more than 5 days is to shell out a lot of additional money.

We have non-refundable flights booked for March 29, 2013, and returning on April 8, 2013.

We are currently booked at the Grand Calrifornian for all 10 nights.
Since we are going during spring break, we were thinking it would be so great to have tickets to enter the park during non-peak hours - and not spend full days in the park. We were thinking we had 10 days to see everything. I was shocked to find out that DL ticket policies are so different from WDW.

In WDW you can purchase a 10 day park hopper for $375.
In DL you have to buy 2 5-day park hoppers (total of $580).

DL cast member suggested a Deluxe annual pass for $469. I would gladly pay that - but unfortunatly, 3 blackout dates fall during our trip - so that is out.

So now we will only be spending 4 nights at Grand Californian hotel. No need to hang around DL if I can't get in :). On a good note, DL will save me about $2000 (the hotel I'm booking near Universal is only $175/night instead of $475 at Grand Californian). Thanks Disneyland!! It's weird that you don't want my money. :stir:

Ok, FINALLY heard back from AAA and they were surprised to learn that Disneyland doesn't have anything beyond five days. She said the Disney Rep said it was because WDW is so much bigger with so much more to do and see where you don't need many days for DL.

I cannot believe that the above poster had 10 days at an onsite hotel and couldn't get an appropriate PH.

So, I will be sending my next email to Disney this weekend. Such a bummer!

I thought the Deluxe didn't have any blackout dates?

I could be wrong, but as far as I know even before this policy change Disneyland did not sell or upgrade to 10-day hoppers. Eight was the max. If you wanted more, you were advised to purchase an annual pass.

Have we examined if we could buy WDW tickets online and have them sent to us, and then use those at the Disneyland Resort? I imagine it would be a bit daunting when your flight is going to CA but I know I've read that you can use leftover WDW tickets at Disneyland. Just a thought I had as I was looking at some DCA videos on you tube and I got all excited again!! If it's not used at all in WDW then my thought was you wouldn't need the non expire option, thus keeping the price reasonable!

Of course watch it won't be doable at all. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with each post :guilty:.

Yes, Disneyland is going to be losing more money than they think - this is a prime example of how atrocious this new policy is. It simply does not work, Disney. Thanks for writing in to Disneyland about this, TheGoodes73, as well, thanks for sharing your story with us on this thread. I hope this encourages others to post their experiences as well. Enjoy your trip, and I'm really sorry that you won't get to spend the days you wanted to at Disneyland.

Go, go, Lurpeee, thanks for all of your support, you are awesome. :yay: It's funny how Disney quietly created these changes - if the AMA travel agency isn't exactly aware of this, it could mean they (Disney) tried to do this discreetly, quietly, etc. so as to avoid conflict with their guests.

I think you are right - I believe NZ and Australia were able to purchase 10-14 day passes. AFAIK, in Canada, the limit was 8, and you could purchase the pass without going anywhere to upgrade.

Ultimately it would cost more for a WDW pass, or no? I'm pretty sure too, that they have to be used at WDW first. Great idea if it all worked out though.

So... IF a person were to go to absolutely every single attraction in Disneyland - I mean - EVERY one - is it even possible to do that all in 5 days? I'm serious!! I'm just thinking of how the AMA member mentioned there is so much more to do in WDW than at the Disneyland Resort. Sounds like Disney may have told them to pass that tidbit of info. along...

I don't think it is possible to go and see every single attraction in 5 days in both parks, I really truly don't. Well, Disney? Can you prove to this it is possible with 2, 3, or 4 kids in tow, etc.? With the lineups, etc.?

For Disney Executives - A Fun Challenge...

I'd like to challenge someone (a Disney executive) to show us a proof (video, etc.) that it is possible to view and experience every single attraction with an adequate amount of time to take in details, in BOTH Disneyland Parks in 5 days) with a family alongside of them. This would need to include going back to the hotel mid-day for a rest, to accommodate the kids that so many park guests have. It also needs to include leaving the park early for the night to tuck the little ones in. popcorn::

I just got back from my two week vacation to California. I spent 6 days at Disneyland and guess what? I did not getbto ride every ride I wanted to and I didn't get to see everything either. I'm sad because next year I only get 5 days in the parks. Thank you Disney:sad:

We were there last week, and also didn't get to do everything. We were there for 5 full days, and I experienced about 3/4 of the attractions in Disneyland Park, and only a 1/4 of California Adventure. I didn't get to see World of Color, fireworks, or any of the shows, but did make it to Fantasmic and saw the parades.

Disney goes through all of this time and effort to create so much, and yet they don't give you enough time to see it.
