Are you an Auguster?

Thanks Suzanne! I happen to have sportsball themed fans already & hadn't even thought of them!

DH gets up for work at 5am everyday no problem, so he should be the one waking us up, but he is used to beach vacations where we relax all day. Not this trip darling!

This is how to describe the August heat. One minute it's hot as heck. One minute the floodgates of heaven open up. Can we decide on a weather????
Allie I didn't know you had this thread going. My names not on that list.. I'll be there 21st to the 29th....

Cool! I'll be sure to add you to the list. unfortunately, lorli does the list not me and she is on vacation I believe. I'm too blonde to keep it all straight.:lmao:

Aug 30th - Sept 4th johnstonfamily (wish we could stay longer)
When Lorli gets back she will PM me the updated list.

How to answer her commercials.
1. how did you beat the heat? We froze water bottles at our hotels. Stop into shops as you walk for a few seconds because all of them should be air conditioned.
2. how crowded were the parks? Not bad at all. Just get fastpasses know that even though it says 40 minutes it is really only 20.
3. rain ponchos. did you need them? Was the weather so unpredictable that you needed them even on days that called for sun most of the time? Not one bit. It pours but it only lasts for like 10 minutes. trust me. Between riding rides and stuff you won't be outside that long.:)

My DH got these things called chill its. They are wraps you soak in water and they stay cool. I used one the other day just to try them out. they are pretty neat. Now if they came in a disney pattern, I would like them even more.

I was just checking in and reading some posts .... I agree lets all just hope for no Hurricanes ...heat we can deal with, but those storms :scared:

I just love Disney so much that I really am not bothered by the heat ... if it gets too hot I just try to get into an air-conditioned place..... while in Epcot the best place for a break is the Universe of Energy... so cool and dark, ahhhhhh so comfortable

Only 11 more days !! YEAH It is sad to say but I think I am more excited than the kids, ha!!

Too funny!!;) A few years ago I was in DC with the family and we had ALL weather imaginable minus a tornado. When we were driving down, it was pouring rain and was bitter cold, a few hours later it cleared up and we had 80 degree temps, a few hours after that it clouded up again and we had thunderstorms and very strong winds. The following day we were driving to Mt. Vernon in a blizzard! All in a 24 hour period. Nuts.

We are going Aug 20 till Aug 29, staying at WL. We never went in August before, we are nervous about the heat and the crowds. A little more nervous now that Hurricane Dean could cause a problem...

For all who just returned, how were the crowds?
What ride did you wait for the most?

The longest wait we saw was for Soarin - we did fastpass but only rode it once this trip....

The crowds varied, somedays the parks seemed more crowded than others. But, we have been at Easter and compared to that I did not think the crowds in general were very bad......I highly recommend park hopping if a park seems too crowded.....one day we were at MK and Main Street was very "empty" the next day, you could barely move.....

omg there were such long lines when i went i think it depends though because at the end of august i think its less crowded. but i think on Rock n roller coaster had such a long wait they turned the wait time off. When i went to MGM's EMH it was PACKED ! i've never seen that many people and the line for the Great Movie Ride was i think around the building .
