Are you allowed to snorkel with only goggles on CC?

I guess it wouldn’t actually be considered “snorkeling” if you don’t have the snorkel, but I want to swim out to the snorkeling area and see all the fish and sunken treasures. I have goggles but I don’t have a snorkel. Am I still allowed to swim in that area without all the equipment?

The only requirement is that you must wear the yellow flotation vest in that area.

If you don't want to use a snorkel, that's up to you.

The lifeguards will intervene if you try to use a snorkel outside of the snorkel area. If you've got the vest inside the snorkel area, I can't imagine that they'd even notice if you weren't using a snorkel. (I didn't put my full snorkel mask on until getting all of the way out since I didn't want to wear myself out breathing through the tube.)

We went with just goggles and the floatation vest in May.

We take our own snorkel masks with no flippers, wear the vest (I inflate it nearly full because it is a long swim to the sunken Mickey and friends and I need a rest on the way out) with no problems. There are lifeguard stations along the way and the underwater items are marked with buoys. Well worth the effort...take a waterproof camera and make sure your cell phone is not in your swimsuit pocket without protection. I killed my I-pod some years ago because I forgot.

Also, there is no cost to get a vest, at least the last time we went. You only had to pay if you rented the gear.
