Are you allowed to bring your own snacks for kids?

I've got 4 kiddo's and would save a small fortune if I could bring in a few snacks, juice boxes and sandwiches for the kids. Is this possible or are they pretty strict with bringing your own stuff in?

Yes it's fine. Basically you can't bring in ingredients(loafs of bread and packages of cheese), hard sided or wheeled coolers, or glass.

You can also bring in insulated bags with ice packs. Not giant ones, but I like to bring along some milk and cut fruit sometimes for my toddler and it's nice to keep it cool :)

WOW! That's great! Thank you. I thought I'd have a hard time just bringing in some juice boxes (we call them poppers).

At my local theme park at the gold coast you are not allowed to bring in any food or drinks. We pack a cooler with sandwiches and drinks in the car and we have to leave the park and eat at the car :rotfl:

Yep, we always bring in food. Lots of snacks for the kids and Subway sandwiches. :thumbsup2 I LOVE that they let you bring in outside food!! Helps so much with the cost.

When I brought my niece and nephew once, we basically grabbed a handful of Goldfish crackers and fruit snacks along with some waters and they were allowed through :thumbsup2 Always good to bring in some snacks to save some money.

This is one (of the many MANY) things I love about DL. I'm used to other parks that don't allow you to bring in anything...maybe water if you're lucky. It's really nice to be able to bring in our own food and drinks when we're at DL, even though all we bring is water and snacks. I have a lot of food related problems, so it's nice to not have to worry about that without needing some sort of documents or going through a big hassle.

We brought in the Uncrustable PBJ sandwiches for the kids. Those were wonderful! Oftentimes we'd find ourselves stuck in line when the kids started to melt down from hunger (we always tried 1 ride too many before lunch). We'd give them their Uncrustable and we'd have happy kids again very quickly. I think I'll be bringing those with me every trip now. It also helped since my daughter can be very picky about what she wants to eat, but will always happily eat PBJ.

You weren't allowed to bring food in for a very long time, and the change has only been recent. I think it's a great change and certainly makes a difference for guests.

Yup, we always take in our own snacks and water bottles, saves us a lot to do it that way. :) We've been doing it since our first trip, so for at least 4-5 years now. :)

Yup, I carried a small backpack/purse and brought 3 bottles of water, granola bars, crackers and beef jerky for all of us. My first time through bag check I was a little nervous wondering if I would be let in with all of that and they didn't even bat an eye at it! Definately helps with cost and convience as lines for food can tend to be long, especially when we do what KTR does and do one ride too many!!

When we brought in our Subway sandwiches, we had them in a soft-sided cooler. The CM opened it up, saw the sandwiches, and commented on how good they looked. LOL Seriously, they DON'T MIND if you bring in outside food. :thumbsup2 There was absolutely no mistaking that we were bringing in food.

We've been bringing in food for years. Right now dollar tree has disney sandwich holders, you can fit about 4 of them in a purse ;). Never had a problem, I think the they know that no matter how much you bring you always end up buying stuff anyway.

That's the thing, we'll be having most breakfasts and dinners in the park, so to be able to provide our own meal at least once a day without leaving the park, would be great.

The packaging the food is in makes a difference. You cannot bring in glass, for example. I know someone on this awesome board will pop on with the exacts. Ziploc baggies or individually wrapped foods like granola bars, Goldfish crackers, grapes, raisins, etc make it easy and keeps the crumbs down in your purse or backpack. :thumbsup2
