We are a family of 4 and we camp with a family of 4. We camp together every Spring Break and Thanksgiving and a few smaller trips in between. The other family has our FW frenzy but not our Disboards frenzy so in that area, I'm alone. We also camp with my sister-in-law but they have absolutely no interest in going to WDW.
We're blessed to have our camping friends. We've been camping together for 9 years and have that comfort level and routine down. There is no stress between the two families. We can push for the long haul or take a short trip and it's all good. All our kids love camping and love the trips to WDW and the Fort.
Last weekend, we were camping together and a family from our community came by to visit and asked us about WDW. I think we wore them out and may have spooked them a little telling them all about FW. People just don't know until they've experienced it.
Both families have Mickey Light Posts, Mickey painted Satellite Dishes, Mickey lights, FW blankets, FW mugs, and spent our Spring Break camping trip making disney ornaments for our December trips.
We're getting ready for our Louisiana trip to Natchitoches for the "Cane River Celebration" on the 4th. Going to Rog's land.
We decided that if our family doesn't understand...too bad. We tried to get them interested. We'd rather go with our friends and be with our DIS friends who understand the FW passion.
