Are you afraid of those exploding biscuit cans?

I hate opening those cans. Especially when the stupid thing doesn't work right and you have to start digging at it with a spoon. I'm always afraid that i'm going to get a flying biscuit in the eye or something.

Nope. Not scared at all! Most of the time the paper doesn't peel right, and I have to hit them on the edge of the counter or grab a spoon. I'm not afraid of a little dough.

Great, now I'm scared to buy the cresent rolls for what I'm making for work on halloween.
Those two-pack buscuits are awesome, esp if you have a small family.

When I saw the title of this post, I couldn't believe it! I thought I was the only one! I've been afradi of them since I was a kid. I was at my parents' house for dinner last week, and my mom wanted me to make Crescent rolls. But I made HER open the package. I said that someday those biscuits are going to take out someone's eye, and it's not going to be mine!

Tag Fairy, please please note that the TF during the first shift today, adjusted my tag to say that I am scared of biscuits. What I meant was that EXPLODING BISCUIT TUBES scare the crap out of me. I beg of the TF during the evening shift to...please please adjust my tag. Otherwise my fellow DISers will think I am really whacked out. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Those things scare me to death! I always make DH open them for me, and I've got to be in another room before he can even get the can out of the fridge.

And as long as were in confessional mode, I'm not too fond of my garbage disposal either. It's way too loud and grind-y and I always think there's something stuck in there that's going to pop up and take my eye out.

I have always used a spoon to open mine so there is no pop, but today on Paula Deen she was talking about how they always scared her, I thought about this thread when she said it!

I kid you not, one time I was opening a tube of biscuits and I ripped the paper off and one of the metal ends shot wildly across the kitchen and hit the refrigerator and left a mark! I never knew a tube of biscuits could be used as a weapon!

Yep... that's me too... never even had one til 3 years ago... though I got revenge on mine one day... I was making stuffed dates, and didn't think too much about the fact that date pits and garbage disposals are NOT friends... RIP, garbage disposal.

(Unfortunately, DH went out the next day and bought a bigger, louder, more powerful one... thanks a lot.)

I am not alone!!! I am so suprised how many people are afraid of these things. I am absolutely terrified of the exploding tubes of biscuits/crescents. I always make my SO open them and I run out of the room. I don't know what my problem is or why I am so scared of them, weird!!!!

That's not weird at all - don't you rememeber the old commercials that actually showed kids opening them and the cans popping? (Ok, I just dated myself )

People afraid of a little can... geesh. You all would have hated having my brother in the family. He used to put firecrackers under the teacups from my teaset to see how high they'd fly. Its all very funny now that I look back at it, but those flying teacups scared the bejeebers out of me.

Maybe it is just anything that "pops" that I don't like. I also HATE balloons popping, freaks me out. But I LOVE firecrackers and fireworks!!!
