frequent visitor for short stays (3 nights or less) or a not so frequent visitor for more nights (4 or more).

I got thinking about his when replying to another thread a few moments ago.

I would rather go every 2 years for 6 nights than go every year for 3 nights.

Which camp are you in?

Obviously if I could afford 6 nights twice a year I would do this instead (but I can't). I just don't like rushing around and need a bit of relax time in a holiday.

How do you deal with your trips?

I'm a bit of both :goodvibes.

My preference is 4 nights, 4 days (or 5 days if we're there over a weekend). That gives me time to relax in my hotel room and feel like its worthwhile unpacking my case, and also gives me plenty of time to do and see everything we want to at DLP, several times over.

Mostly my trips have been 3 nights/4 days midweek. Again, thats plenty of time for us in the parks, but I do feel a bit cheated out of my extra nights hotel stay!

Since we started visiting DLP in 2007, we have been lucky enough to manage to go twice a year (I snuck in a third trip our first year too).

I am a bit of both as well, my ideal is 3 or 4 nights, anything longer and i think i would get bored as by day 4/5 i a, ready to come home.

Me too, although I never thought I'd say that!

Our shortest trip had been 5 nights/6 days with our longest 8 nights/9 days and I never ever thought I'd enjoy going for a short trip ..... just couldn't see the point for just a couple of nights ..... however we all so enjoyed our whirlwind 2 night/3 day trip last year that instead of a 6 night/7 day trip next summer we've decided to spend the first 3 nights at a hotel in Paris and so our DLP trip will be 3 nights/4 days.

I think it's easier to go for shorter trips when you've been before as you know exactly what you want to see/do however I think I'd still rather do one long holiday a year than 2 or 3 short ones!

Would love to stay for 5/6 days but I don't think there is enough to do plus the fact we'd probably end up going bankrupt! Lol

Usually stay 2 or 3 nights, after staying 3 nights for several trips it was strange doing 2 nights on my last when I really could of done 3 nights instead.

I usually do shorter stays as its a break away for me and sometimes I can fit it into my rota without using any leave:goodvibes

I believe that was my thread you replied to. ;)

We are Americans living in Germany, we have been here 2 years and have one more to go. While living here I prefer short trips, because we are trying to see as much of Europe as we can before moving back. There is no way I could afford, or my husband has enough time off from work to take a week when we take a trip.

We have a list of different places we would like to go and the deciding factor is usually the cost. If we can get a good deal we go, if not we wait until later. So far this year I have been to....

Holland 2 times (Roden, Volendam, and Lisse-Keukenhof Gardens)
Belgium 2 times (Brussels and Bastogne)
France ( Paris 2 times, Metz, Strasbourg, Verdun, Reims, and *****e)
Italy (Tuscan country side, Pisa, Florence, Montepulciano, Cinque Terre, Lake Como)
Drove through Switzerland and Luxembourg
London for 4 days
Germany (Heidelburg, Bonn, Idar-Oberstein, Castles on the Rhine, The Black Forest, Isle of Mainau, Holiday park, and several smaller castle ruins)

I did have 3 sets of visitors back to back over 6 weeks and that is where a lot of the travel occurred. It was very hectic, especially traveling with 2 little ones, but I have memories and pictures to last a lifetime. I have the rest of my life to take relaxing vacations, but for now I feel like I "have" to see what we can in case we never get back.

So needless to say all of our trips are very well planned out and DLP is no exception. :)

I prefer to go less - for longer.

I find it weird when I see people saying they would get bored if they stayed for longer than 2/3 days....Seriously...

How could you get bored that quick in Disneyland Paris with so much to do:confused: I'm still not bored on day 6!

The longer the better for me.

4 nights 5 days is our usual and on average once a year.

I'm always surprised when people say they'd get bored, but perhaps we take things easier than others do or it could be because we've had quite a few trips over weekends so end up queuing longer :confused3

For me I love waking up in DLP and I love chilling in the evening with a nice meal and a cocktail or 2, so it's not just about the parks and characters.

I worked it out the other day and we've had 32 nights and 34 days in the park and never made it to the swimming pools, to the shopping district even though we've had tickets for Sealife or into Paris. Guess I must love DLP too much. lol

Every time we go to Disneyland Paris we go 4nights/5days.
I wanted to do 6 days this time, because we are going with two toddlers (1.5 year old and 3.5 years old), so I think we need more time to do the same things there as usual, but I don't like Saturdays, so we are going Monday -Friday.
The second reason is the difference for the price of additional night was about GBP 400. I calculated that this is the cost of all our meals during those 5 days.

We (2 adults) used to go for 4 nights Mon-Fri around March/April, then have 2weeks in Florida in September.

For the last 2 years we have not been to Florida, so have been going to DLP twice a year instead.

This year we went for 6 nights in April, and are going for 8 nights (our longest DLP trip so far) at the beginning of November.

I don't understand why people think they would get fed up. Going for a longer trip means you can take a much more relaxed pace to the holiday. Spend time taking in all the rich details in the park, take a stroll around the lake, spend time relaxing in the hotel bars, leisurley dinners, trips to Paris, shopping at Val d'europe etc.

Slightly OT, for those who wish they could go more why not opt for an annual pass and an offsite hotel?

This is what we did this year. we have enjoyed 6 nights at the Dream Castle in April, and are spending 5 nights at the Magic Circus and 3 nights at Santa Fe (I know this is technically not "off site" but we bagged a bargain £44/night at Santa Fe) in November.

The cost of these hotels, the annual passes and the flights actually has cost less than what we paid for 4 nights at Sequoia Lodge on our last on site trip.

We usually go for 3 nights. We did 4 nights on earlier visits, and had a lovely visit. We have never got bored, although exhaustion tends to set in! We are now planning visit no 11 in a couple of weeks, and we know now what are the important things for us if its busy, and if its quieter we can do lots more. DLP is never a relaxing holiday for us (our son has asd) and we walk miles. We now go in the campervan, and by evening are happy to settle down with a glass of wine in the van! I love sunny winter morning on Main Street before it gets too busy!

We are now planning a Feb trip with mil when we will have to slow the pace - will be interesting! chipndale fan - where did you get the santa fe rate? Might have to look for one like that instead of taking her in the van!

I am both, me and my Fiancee visist at least once a year (twice last year) and we usually stay either 4 nights, 5 days or 5 nights, 6 days!

We usually stay offsite though so its a lot cheaper for us, I think the most I have paid was in the summer this year which was £600 for us both for 5 nights including Eurostar.

Next year I plan on taking her to the Disney Hotel, depending on offers.

It has been a few years since we have visited DLP and we are in the camp of longer stays. Though this is more because of logistics rather than seeing less enjoyment in a short stay.

Given the cost of air costs or the time to drive from the north means it is not really practical to go for 2/3 night stays.
Our trips to DLP have therefore been part of a main annual holiday in the summer.

However a favourite treat was in one year we also managed a 2nd trip during Xmas season which is a truly magical time at DLP.

It was via expedia. The rate was bed and breakfast only (we don't need tickets as we have annual passes) This is the first time I have seen such a low rate though for on site.

If you would consider either Dream Castle or Magic Circus there's usually good rates for them on travelrepublic.

Problem is I think she will be struggling with a full day, but she won't go back to a hotel on her own so we need to be close by, as DS won't go for long period out of the park! I'll do some searching though....

This is what we did for a few years - we got three trips totalling 17 nights out of one annual pass and two trips totalling 13 nights out of another.

I've never got bored at DLP either. The reason we're only staying 3 nights next year is because we also want to stay in Paris rather than travel in for the day and after enjoying such a short trip to DLP this year felt quite happy to do another short trip. I suppose we could have done 3 days Paris and then 6 days DLP but my DDs are now at the age where they miss home (as in boyfriends) and more than a week is probably going to be pushing it!

I'm a bit different :rotfl2:

For obvious reasons I've never stayed over night at DLP (tried to get OH to agree to go to HNY but he wasn't having it :sad2:)

I go every 10 days or so and stay for a few hours at a time. If I'm with OH we stay longer but it's very rare that we do a full day.

It's not a place I think of in terms of a holiday more of a long weekend and when we didn't live so close it was a once or twice a year day out :)
