Are you a WDW night owl?

Yes! Add me to the club! In Disney, I am a night owl and an early riser. Getting to the parks for rope drop, staying until noon and leaving to rest. I make sure to take breaks at the resort each day. Then heading back out for the evening until the park closes. I love MK & Epcot at night! The rides are awesome at night and just walking around, taking it all in. The later it gets, the less crowds there will be.

Love WDW at night. We always open the parks at rope drop and usually there when they close, even the 2 and 3 am nights. The way we see it, we can sleep when we get back home!!

YES! DS and I were the last people on Splash Mountain on one trip. We kept getting off, walking around and riding again until they stopped us. We were almost all alone walking out of the park that night, even down main street. Very, very memorable...

Not me!
I am a morning person! However, DH is a WDW night owl... it makes touring difficult. ;)

We are HUGE fans of MK in the wee small hours! DD21 and I will stay until park close/EMH hours are over, which means 3am sometimes. There is NOTHING that compares with being the only people walking through FrontierLand on the way to Splash Mountain at 2am. It's like you own the park!

It's also kind-of funny to be returning to our room at POP at 4am, passing sleepy-eyed guests with their luggage, headed for DME and MCO!

The night atmosphere makes everything more magical. We love Test Track, Thunder Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and on the rare occasion when it's possible... Expedition Everest. And not just the rides but the views, lighting, etc are all great. On our next trip this summer, we'll be getting Park Hopper for the first time just so when one park closes early, we can hit another one and maximize our night time park experiences, and take advantage of any night time EMH even if we're not visiting that park in the day.

We're night owls but we also do some RD's.

My favorite memory is when AK had PM EMH. It was open until 8 pm in March 2009. We rode EE at night. It was gorgeous in the dark. The whole park was beautiful. It's what really got me to love AK.

Yup! We're on the go until the very end! Our boys (7 & 9 at the time) rode Space Mountain for the very first time at 2:30 am.

Our motto while at Disney is "Sleep is for the Weak!"
:jumping1:
We (jokingly) add a two more:

"It isn't a real vacation unless somebody comes home limping."
and
"Those who can't keep up will get left behind."

Okay, semi-jokingly. :teeth:

Haha. My DH and I are the opposite! I love the evening and he gets up early. Makes things hard since he starts dragging his feet around 10PM and I'm set to go until 3AM. I LOVE the parks at night. I especially like playing SOMK. It really feels like you're saving the Kingdom. But I also use the time to do BTMRR a bunch. XD Somehow it never makes it to my FP+ list but it gets ridden like 3 times... ;) Seeing the parks after dark makes me want to roll around in glee!

YES! One of my most magical moments was riding The Magic Carpet Ride in Adventureland during Wishes when DD was 2. It's one of those memories that can still bring tears to my eyes. It was such a perfect moment in time.
I have similar memories along those lines.

One very cold winter night in MK, I rode BTMRR with a family member who was just over the 40" limit. She liked it, but it was at the upper limit of her comfort zone. To encourage her, I touted the castle view from the top hill. "Look, the castle view is so beautiful from here- all lit up." The temps dropped lower. About 2am, she begged one more ride on the Carpets. I complained about the cold, held my hood tight, and begged her to stay down low where there was less wind. Without missing a beat, she brought the carpet up as high as it would go, and echoed, "But just look, the castle view is so beautiful from up here, all lit up." We still use it late at night to encourage each other. (though the view is now obstructed after construction changes. We saw the building top under scrims.)

An earlier trip, her cousin was only 18mos. It was her arrival day, and her family had caught a very early flight (like 5am). The rest of us had been up to catch morning EMH. Around 10pm, the adults were all zonked as we walked through the Boardwalk area towards the Swan. She bounced enthusiastically in her stroller seat all the way back to the hotel.

I'm a night owl and a morning owl at Disney. And I liked to nap in the middle of the day when the parks are the most crowded.

Cracks my husband up. He's a night owl only.

Do they still do the "kiss goodnight" at MK? I've never been there for it, but have read about it here on the DIS. Would love to experience it sometime!

Wish we could be! LOVE the feel of the parks in the evening, probably my favorite time of day there, especially in late Sept when the temps are super comfortable at night.

I'm sure many parents with young kids agree, it's hard to do Disney. When the kids wake up, so do you... plus, the parks just aren't open late in Sept when we go. We close most parks down, but that's not saying much at 9 pm. :)

Yup - this has been us since going with kids. I'm sure we could push them one night, but then would have to pay for it the next day. Nighttime at WDW is one of the things I look forward to doing as my kids get older. I do remember loving the wee hours when I was a teenager/young adult.

Definitely! Unfortunately haven't been able to stay late during my last few trips due to my DS2. Really looking forward to a late night at MK in September with my sister - can't wait!

My family are all night owls. We would prefer to close the park down rather than get up early. Until FP+ we were forced to RD the parks so we could ride the popular rides with the shortest wait times. We will be going the last week of December and this will be our strategy for the first time. Hope it works out.

I enjoy walking through the parks at night and riding splash mountain over and over again...

I don't think we saw a evening past 8pm at any of the parks the first two trips when the girls were little. But the girls made us change last trip when they were all teens. They love to sleep in and coming from West Coast tha made very late mornigns. We were at MK during the week beteween Xmas and NYE and got everything we wanted done.

This trip none of our FP+ are before 12n and the Night Mk is open until 3am we are starting at 8pm. I think I'm most excited to see AK at night.
