If you haven't posted, I just want to say to "jump right in" and post away. We welcome everybody and I look forward to "meeting" new friends.

I agree, just jump right in!!! I finally did that a few years ago and now I can't stop :teeth: :p I love meeting new people too :)

Kissimmee, I am another half lurker too... wonder if we are related ;)

And yes for all looking at that post count, I still read more than I post... no kids, don't watch TV so I have plenty of time to read :p

I still lurk more than I post, but I am having fun posting more and more. I agree - jump right in to this crazy group!

I don't post often but have been here for several years. I do find what holds me back is the impersonal nature of the boards at times. Often, people don't respond to your questions or observations, and this tends to make me retreat rather than 'jump in' further. So, I guess I am in the shy lurker category, but that's OK. :)

I've been called a lurker, just because I keep my light out.;) I post every now and then though.:teeth:

You know I totally understand that. I think that is why I rarely rarely ever start a thread. I am the queen of replying to other's threads though ;) Seriously even though I slightly jest about that, you will see that I don't like to start threads and am even shy about posting pictures. I feel that "retreat" mode often. So my comfort zone is in supporting friends and being chatty, but almost never starting up the subject.

I am a lurker!!! I stop by here everyday, but I do not post that often. I like to follow some of the stories that go on here, ie the "smelly co-worker" was a recent favorite. I also enjoy the questions from people looking for advice on family/children issues. I learn so much from all of you! But, I have to agree with Saphire I tend not to post because I am really on the shy side and sometimes feel intimidated. Some of you really seem to be in the "family". I often feel like an outsider looking in.

Oh, and I think I am one of the top post killers! I didn't even post on the official thread because I know it would have been over after me!

I lurk most of the time and post some of the time. Sometimes I want to post but I don't have time to read and post. Sometimes I just don't feel like getting emotionally involved with the "Peyton Place" aspect of this board at times.

I do say that sometimes when I post people reply but sometimes when I post I feel people don't reply because I'm not a "regular". Most of time I'm more comfortable just watching.

Hi Helenabear, thanks for your reply :) I seldom start a thread, either. I think that is one way my shyness is apparent. And Charleneluvsdisney, I can definately appreciate this statement, lol

Hi, my name is Dawn and I'm a lurker. They say acceptance of a problem is half the battle. :) Seriously, coming here and reading other peoples posts has really helped me get through the last couple of years, which have been the best yet most difficult of my life. I promise to post more. My family will tell you that I usually have no problem giving my opinion to other people. :)

98% lurker here, but I visit daily! I think I am also at the top of the list for "thread killers", so I read a lot more than I post.

I lurked for a long time before I started posting. I enjoy reading a lot of posts but I mostly answer the ones where few others have answered! I feel like when a post gets too long people are just saying the same things over and over again. I can understand though, those of us who are not shy have a hard time not putting our 2 cents worth in...LOL! I have this problem in person too. When I hear people in a store or something talking about something I have an interest in I have to bite my tongue to not jump in! That's why I like the DIS, I can jump in!!

Yep, I'm a bonafida lurker and thread killer. I started reading these boards about 3 years ago. Registered and lost my original user name when my computer crashed. But I hadn't posted much before that happened. I finally registered again. But even though I read all the time, some days I just don't post at all.

Look under my user name...

Alot of folks have left over issues, and I really just lurk most of the time.
I miss some of the lost disers...:(

I miss some of the lost DISers too. I really don't do nearly as much posting as I used to. :(

I also rarely start threads. I often don't get the number of answers I hope for and then I sometimes start worrying a little about whether I'm welcome or not. Which as my post count clearly indicates doesn't even occur to me most of the time!

I suggest just jumping in and posting away. After all, everyone had to start somewhere.

Lurk frequently.

Post periodically, but posting more these days. :teeth:
