Are you a dog or cat person?

Cat person married to a dog person here! Makes for an interesting household at times! Currently we have one cat who predates my husband and one dog who predates DDs.

Five months after we got married, we moved from Idaho to Florida. If driving cross country wasn't ehough to test a new marriage, when we got to our new house, DH noticed that our landlords (moving out of the house) had a dog and the back patio was equipped with a doggie door. So he talked me into getting a dog.

Now we have two DDs, and both the cat and dog have fallen down the food chain a bit. Although the dog and DD2 are best friends! Maybe it has something to do with DD2 being a "messy" eater so there are usually lots of tidbits on the floor! The cat, on the other hand, tolerates the dog and humans in her house!

And yes, Simba is handsome, but I have to say that my Symba (female and named before Lion King) is beautiful!

dogs rule and cats drool.............simba is handsome.

see my dog..........I am not too fond of him. He is suppose to be a lazy breed but since he is still a pup, I'll keep him around until he calms down. English Bullie......cute little puppies that can not be overlooked. Now....he's gone ugly.

I'm a dog person all the way! I'm allergic to cats..but I like them from a distance :teeth:

I am a "furry animal" lover... however my husband isn't much into dogs or the like so we just have cats... I'd do anything in the world for them :)

Our family loves both. We have 2 dogs we have rescued, Phoebe, a lab-husky mix and Iggy, an American Eskimo. The newest addition to our family last February is Tipper, a miniature dappled dachshund. We also have a beautiful 2 year old cat named Kiki Moose.

I have to keep my husband away from the Humane Society or we would have more animals. We are also "foster parents" to the 2 horses that live next door.

I am a dog person (I'm the mommy to Jessie---an adopted lab mix). We were owners to several gerbils when we had an apartment. We like cats too. Catsrule, Simba looks like the one of the cats that my grandma used to own (she passed on in 1997 and the cat given away--- our apartment in Northern VA would not allow it.):teeth:

BOTH.
Had dogs growing up and cats as an apartment dweller.
Since I've had my own house.....both.
My cat (Acoma) has been pretty lonesome since my dog passed away and is very happy when her 'cousins' (2 min-pins) come to visit, or her friend Cara (min. schnauzer).
I usually let 'fate' bring my pets to me, but I may have to seek one out this time. I'm not quite ready, but I know she'll be happier. When I do, I'll probably post a 'best small breed' thread and then go to petfinders.com.

BTW, horses are way up on the list too, though I don't own my own anymore.....OH...just realized the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is only about a month away! What a horse lovers delight that is!

,,,,and Acoma thinks Simba is REALLY handsome!

I'm a dog person, however, we got our kids a puppy for Christmas and she's into EVERYTHING! Right now she's trying to eat our carpet. Allergic to cats.

Definitely a cat person - my two boys are my life. I miss them so much! They're staying with my parents for a couple more weeks. If DH wouldn't kill me, I would get another cat and then a dog, eventually. But with the military, moving that many pets is very hard.

...oh, and Wedge and Tycho think Simba is very handsome. ;)

This is tough one. I always thought I was a cat person, because that's all we had when I was growing up. But then 4 years ago, I got my first dog. I'm in love. I have both, but I think I have to say, I couldn't live without my dog.:p He makes me so happy.

I couldn't have said it better. I never knew that I wanted a dog until Jake found us.
