I chose "Leaning Towards Network." We bought in with a small resale contract - somewhere we don't intend on staying often. I'd like to try all of the resorts at some point. We are looking to add on - deciding between Animal Kingdom which we love or going with SSR for the better value. With our current jobs we are not able to plan more than 7 months out, but in the future maybe we'd be able to and would like that home resort booking advantage. So even though everything here sounds like Network all the way, we're still considering a Destination contract for our next add on. Also, I haven't been able to talk DH into buying Grand Californian - he wants to at least own somewhere at WDW.

We have no desire to stay at the same resort over & over, trip after trip. If we wanted THAT we'd have bought a traditional timeshare. Resort hopping is what keeps each trip fresh & different from the last.:thumbsup2

We generally stay at home - BWV. We like other DVC resorts, but apparently are creatures of habit.

Since 2003 when we bought we've spent one night at VWL. Other than that its BWV. We are spending our next vacation at BCV because are kids are prime SAB age. But I suspect after that, it will be back to BWVs unless we bring guests with a desire to stay somewhere else or the kids want to stay somewhere else (my sister likes VAKL).

I definitely have "destination" written all over me, but I've been "expanding my horizons" a bit now after 13 years.

I think it's important to experience all the resorts within the DCV. We are in the process of doing that. Regardless of where we bought we will have our favorites and stay there most of the time. So far, hands down, VWL will be one of these " destinations"!:thumbsup2

it's also a great way to decide if you want to addon there:)

I own at SSR but I have only stayed there twice. I have a goal to stay at every DVC resort at least one night. We have stayed at many of the resorts at WDW but we still have many more to go. I have also used both beach resorts (HH and VB) and plan on returning many times.

I guess we would be more of a "leaning toward network". We have been traveling during Spring break (Feb or April) and Summer vacation time. We always book at the 11 month mark to ensure ourselves the room. We also tend to try and change the resort at the 7 month mark. For exmple in addition to the 2 other times we also go in October. Last year we were able to get into BLT. It was great to be able to walk to the MK the 2 nights we went to MNSSHP. We have once again booked BLT in Oct. just because it worked out so well. However, next month we will be booking our April 2011 trip at AKV. We will not be changing that one. We also are in the process of purchasing a small HHI contract. That was done with the intent of "destination" and the 11 month window. So, some times we are "network" and some times we are "destination".

I voted network for now anyway. Our first use of our DVC membership was a trade with RCI to Cabo and this June we will be at the GCV. Our home resort is SSR and we'll be there in December 2011.

We spent the extra money and bought into BLT because we were thrilled at the thought of being able to stay there every single trip. So, we definitely fall into the destination owner category. :goodvibes

We are 99.9% destination people. We love VWL and bought there to ensure that we could stay there every time. I might be forced to stay at AKV (savannah view) or BCV (SAB) years down the road to make DD happy as she gets older. She is still a toddler so we have time to enjoy VWL.

I love that we have the option to stay other places, but VWL is home for us!

When I joined (and added on) there was only one resort. And I like different resorts based on the purpose/theme of the vacation. So by default, I suppose I'm a Network owner because I'm not going to sell and re-buy points at a resort I like better.

I did leaning toward network because while I love my home resort, I still plan to try other places out as well.....for me, it would be a different view of "the world" with each new place.

We are mostly Destination people. When it's DW and I, we like to be walking distance from a park.

We generally travel in October (F&W and MNSSHP). During this time of year, we want to be at BLT, BCV, or BWV. This year, we were pleasantly surprised to get part of our stay at BWV, the rest will be at BLT.

During early December, we want Christmas decorations. We like the convenient access from our home to MK, Epcot, GF, and WL. Also like the monorail access to Poly for Dole Whips.

When travelling with friends/family we'll let them pick the resort we should try to stay at. A couple friends visited us at AKL last year and they could spend an entire trip relaxing at the resort.

ALL: We have our first 100 votes! Thanks for keeping this running! I've been enjoying reading the responses.

dizfan: Given your comment below ... I really wonder if you are a combo of Destination (BLT) leaning towards network folks? While you target specific destinations for specific trips -- are you using points from BLT, BCV and BWV for staying in each resort or are you using points as if they were resort-generic? Either way -- isn't the flexibility wonderful! :)

We have been "network," visiting all the DVCs except California. Our next trip is destination -- AKV Concierge, and then next year we hope to have another destination trip at the THV with DD's side of the family. But in October we're booked "network" into BLT for a weekend.

Using fewer points at AKV for Value rooms also appeals to me, so there may be more "destination" stays in the future.

I voted leaning toward Destination. We mainly visit DLR and as VGC is our only option there (besides occasionally using hotel/reservation points) then that is going to be our regular destination.

But at WDW we strongly prefer AKL/AKV - there is just nothing else like it. We don't even bother with the MK or DHS much while at WDW. My second fav spot would be the Epcot resorts.

But mostly we have so far used our AKV points at GCH/DLH and now VGC. :thumbsup2
