According to this the DIS (well, people who aren't just lurkers and actually register) is actually almost equally male and female.

I have only been posting here for about a year and can tell you that this is false. No way are 47% of Disers male...

Well, I only post regularily on 3 of the forums - Community, Family, & Strategies - so maybe that's it, but I find it impossible to believe that 47% are male...

I agree, I don't run across many guys on the forums I post on but there is a CM board, a college board and a Gay and Lesbian board that I imagine might have more guys on it.

No way that "estimate" is correct. The site says it's a "rough estimate". I think it's a random guess pulled out of nowhere.

Based on my 5 years on the Disboards, my fairly educated guess is:

The Community Board is at least 90% female.
The rest of the DIS is at least 75% female.

I'm part of the minority.
