We are going to WDW Nov 3-6 and have never attended the WHW presentation. Does anyone recommend or discourage it? What do they do there? TIA!:goodvibes

We have never attended, going this week and not in the plans, prefer to be in the parks or at the pool.

We have never been either and always wondered as well. So we are going down in Nov and going to try and fit it in if time permits.

We went last April. They give you free lemonade as well as bags of Smartfood or Cracker Jacks. When we went they gave every person a white DVC hat. It was really a big trivia game with 4 contestants who win prizes and then there are trivia questions for the audience. I got one right and was awarded a pin :cool1:. I thought it was cute and my kids found it amusing. If you have the time, give it a shot.

We went back in June. It was a sales pitch made to look like a game show. They gave you several give away items for showing up (caps, coupons, snacks & drinks) and they had some pretty good raffle prizes handed out (gift certificates, photo shoot packages, etc.) through out the event. I went on stage for the trivia contest (my family roped me into it, I hate being in the spotlight!) along with two other members. When it was over, some creative scoring resulted in us all being declared winners and we were given a cooler/camp chair with the DVC logo and a different style cap.

If you are into the DVC swag, or hope to win a bigger raffle prize, and have an hour or so to kill, go for it. Otherwise, enjoy your vacation time and catch the DVC sales pitches from the tv in your villa....

Thank you everyone for your input. Since it will be just DH and me going it sounds like it might be fun for us to go! At lease then I can say we tried it!;)

We went in Aug for the first time because we stayed at BWV. It's a lot of fun and you get all the goodies other posters listed. It wasn't much of a sales pitch. If you REALLY want to have fun and be in the game show, get there early because those folks are picked from the lower seats. And you don't have to be a DVC genius to play or win - I've owned DVC 3 years and knew more than all the contestants.

Hope to make it this week.. can some one tell me the time?:)
Never been to one before.

We went on the BLT tour for DVC owners...it was REALLY fun! Great food and fun little games with lots of give aways. DH even won $50 Disney gift card! They also gave us instant fast passes for just going. If you have the time and have yet to see BLT it was fun! We just asked at the DVC counter at AKL where we were staying and they assigned us a time.

We attended one in June, and will never attend another one.

Went in April...unless you're one of the contestants playing for a decent prize, it's a complete waste of time. The audience members that won anything were all children, and the hat given to everyone upon leaving - seriously, the only ones who would want to wear it would be a 65 yr. old man. Won't waste our time again.

We went in April and it as a little cheesy, but they gave out prizes.

we went once, and doubt we'll ever go back. it was as others described: a sales pitch with a cap, some lemonade and popcorn (the cheap bagged stuff). it wasn't horrible, just boring, imho.
i would recommend trying it for yourself however, as a (very) few over the years have said they actually enjoyed it.

btw, the BLT meet was much better. friendly, barely a sales pitch, finger sandwiches, non-alcoholic drinks, and lots of giveaways.

We just did our first Welcome Wednesday. Sure, it was a bit cheesy, but we thought it was fun. There were only a few prizes that went out to the audience and the hats were not something we would really use much, but we enjoyed it. Incidentally, my mom won parasailling, so there are some good prizes out there! :thumbsup2
