and I think like sheep once one did
it was easy for others to criticize.

Most weddings here rent firehalls or social halls for receptions
and an abundance of alcohol is the norm, as well as a full dinner.

My family did not consume ANY alcohol growing up
nor did DH's.

We serve it at every occasion, kid birthdays, holidays, etc. Our parents do not ever serve it, and very rarely even imbibe in a taste.

Dismissal went well today, too!

I told the head teacher that I had taught his class where to stand for dismissal, and he wasn't offended. They got in line as they should and there was so much less confusion! (second graders, they were previously wandering aimlessly and walking out unsupervised to their busses, very dangerous). Head teacher is highly stressed this year, and about to have back surgery, in daily pain.
