Are We There Yet????

Are you sure you're not getting Tiny Tim and Oliver Twist confused?

Great TR Alison!! And I have to say that you are a very pretty woman!

Thanks Andy (er I mean Rob)!

Thanks Andy (er I mean Rob)!

Andy works too! If I ever do get into Actor's Equity (and that'll be the day) and someone's already in the union with my name (there are actually quite a few ppl with my name) I'm actually most likely going to use Andy as my stage name. lol

We hung around US for a little while longer and rode the Simpsons again. FOTL really does ROCK! The wait time in the standby line was 80 minutes!!! We ended up going back to IOA and riding Hulk a couple of times. Then it was time for the parks to close. We went by Margaritaville and they had a wait time of an hour…..so we went to Hard Rock Café and got right in. I didn’t get any pictures of the food. Tim got the nachos, I got the chicken quesadilla, Zack got a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (which btw was the most expensive thing ordered- he hardly eats anything and it would have been nice if he could have ordered from the kids menu), and Jacob got the kids pasta with red sauce. The food was pretty good. Tim had 2 long island iced teas with his dinner and I had a rum runner. This was the first alcohol of our trip. Dinner with the tip and after my APH discount came to around $80.

Next installment: Tuesday- Tim's got a headache

Tuesday June 24, 2008

We woke up in our room at PBH and Tim had a splitting headache. He told me to take the boys to the parks and he would call me when he felt like joining us. He had me get him some sinus medicine and Excedrin and he went back to sleep. I hated to go without him, but he told me that he just needed to sleep and he would feel better later.

The boys and I left the room and decided to go check out the PBH pool.

We got a quick peek and then we were off to the boat dock. Don’t the boys look happy?

DSCN0412.jpg

We went to IOA and rode Dueling Dragons a few times. The boys were hungry, but I really didn’t want to have lunch without their dad, so I got them a churro and a coke each. Then we went and rode Hulk a few times. It just was not the same without Tim there with us. It got to be about 1 PM and Tim still had not called, so we decided to hop on a boat and go back to the room to check on him. We got there and he was still sleeping. I figured that he should probably be good and rested by this time, so I woke him up. He was feeling better and started getting ready to go with us. We were all hungry and we had heard rave reviews of Sal’s Market Deli at the PBH, so we decided to try it. Tim and I split a Margherita pizza and the boys split an Americana pizza. It was delicious.

Next, we got on the water taxi and headed to Universal Studios. The guys were just itching to get on MIB again, so we started off in that direction. Tim made a comment that he was enjoying his view. I turned around to see what he was talking about……

CIMG0282.jpg

He’s so crazy!

So then, we were off to MIB training. This is pretty serious stuff with my family.

CIMG0286.jpg

It started raining, so we went to the Animal Actors show. We have been to UO many times, but had never seen this show. It was really great!

We rode a few more rides and then decided to go into town to eat. We decided that since we did not eat at the right McDonalds on Friday, we would try again, so we headed back to the PBH and to the parking deck, got in the car and went to the great big McDonalds on Sandlake Road. Sorry, no pics…….(I know I let you guys down…) I had a veggie wrap, Tim had a Frisco Burger, Zack had a double cheeseburger meal and Jacob had a meatball sandwich. I figured out that I had not eaten any meat that day at all…I guess I could take it or leave it then.
Next installment- Wednesday early the early bird gets the worm...

I finally caught up with your TR Allison!

Very cute pics!

And you will be done before I am.....

Wednesday June 25, 2008

We had wanted to ride Pteranodon Flyers for years and never got to IOA early enough to do it, so Wednesday morning we got up early and headed to IOA. We took the boat as usual and I snapped some pics from the boat and when we got on shore.

DSCN0756.jpg

The wait for Pteranodon Flyers was about 25 minutes. We got in line and waited our turn. Tim and I went first, so that the boys wouldn’t be waiting on us. The wait was worth it, we really enjoyed the ride and the view was amazing. We were able to see why they suggest that you ride with a small child. Tim and I aren’t that big, but our weight had us a little worried because we were swinging pretty darn hard on the track. The kids said that they had the same problem, and they are just kids…..not little bitty kids, but not great big ones either.

Zack wasn’t very happy in this next pic….he said his hair was going to look like crap because everyone was in such a big hurry that he didn’t get to gel it…….I asked him when he started caring about his hair and he said, “Ever since I started looking good.” I asked him when that was and he said, “the day I was born.” What am I going to do with that child?

We had not ridden Flying Unicorn yet and we always have to ride it. I think it’s a pretty good coaster for its size, not to mention that you’re supposed to be able to see some of the HP construction from it. So, off to the Unicorn we went.

Along the way, we were able to see some of what was going on in the HP area.

CIMG0306.jpg

CIMG0307.jpg

Of course, we had to go ride Dueling Dragons after we rode the Unicorn. It was hot and I was ready to cool off a bit, so I suggested we ride Cat in the Hat. Along the way, Tim spied an open gate to the HP area and stepped just inside and snapped a pic of a new bridge.

CIMG0311.jpg

We decided to go on the Seuss Trolley first. I just love the Seuss Trolley, it’s a nice little break and it’s so scenic. Tim snapped a few pics from up there:

After riding Cat in the Hat, we were a little hungry, but not starving, so we decided that we would head to Artic Express for some ice cream. Along the way, we stopped off by the water to check out this little submarine that Tim had seen while we were riding the Seuss Trolley.

CIMG0330.jpg

All of us except for Jacob got a swirl waffle cone. Jacob had a rootbeer float.

DSCN0764.jpg

Zack was being extremely messy with his cone……good thing Jacob chose the float!

Next, we took a ride on Hulk and then walked back to Universal Studios, using the short-cut next to Hard Rock Café. We had to ride the Mummy first. There seemed to be a few little ticks in the ride. Something just didn’t seem right….and then it happened! The ride stopped right after we went backwards! We sat there in the dark for a while Tim said, "DOH!" and everyone laughed. Finally, they turned on the lights. Boy, we wish we could have got our camera out for that! But you know we just couldn’t do that. Next thing we know, there’s a guy named Dave that came to talk to us. He said that our car didn’t make it to where it was supposed to and he was just going to move it for us. Everyone in the car started cheering for Dave! We were stranded for what seemed like 20 minutes, then the car locked in place and the ride started again. After that, we rode MIB and Simpsons. And what would a trip to Universal Studios be with the Horror Makeup Show?
DSCN0774.jpg

We had to go there. My family wanted me to be picked to be the volunteer so bad they could taste it! But, they picked this nice lady named Karen to be the victim. It was Karen’s 30th wedding anniversary that day.
DSCN0779.jpg

After that, we went and watched Terminator. As always Terminator was very entertaining. It was raining, so we decided to go back to the room for a little bit. When we got there, it stopped raining, so the kids and I went to the pool. Tim didn’t want to, so he stayed in the room and rested. The waterslide at the PBH is really cool! The kids loved it. We didn’t stay long (maybe an hour) and it started raining again, so we went back to the room to dry off. Oh, and Zack got to fix his hair, so he was happy! By that time we were all ready to go back to the parks. The boat was full, so this time we walked. We took the short-cut across to the HRH and were there in no time. When we got there, US had just closed at 7 PM for a Cisco Live event and so had Hard Rock Café.

DSCN0833.jpg

We were hungry, so we went to see if we could get in at Margaritaville and the wait was too long, so we just went to IOA and ate at Captain America’s. We’ve always liked Captain America’s for counter service food. We had enough time to eat and ride Hulk once and headed to the boat dock. There were lots of people waiting for boats. While we were in line, a family walked up that you just had to notice. They had been at Margaritaville and the girls had balloon hats that were joined together. I thought it was too cute, so I asked their dad if he minded if I got a picture.

DSCN0847.jpg

So, then we were off to the room to get some much needed rest. Isn’t the PBH beautiful at night?

I just caught up with your post. Thanks for the link. Wed was the day that we arrived so we were at IOA at the same time. I look forward to comparing notes for the rest of our trip.

Sounds like Zack has hit the "I'm too cool for everything" portion of the teen years.

Great pictures! Waiting for more... :flower3:

Yes he has! I didn't throw it in, but he told us that he saw girls giggling and heard them saying he was cute and he just knew they were taking his picture.....:sad2:

Wait, wait, wait..........

You can ride the Flyers WITHOUT a small child?!!?

I have been dying to go on those and almost tried to take a small child from another family to ride it!!!! :lmao:

WHY WASN'T THIS INFORMATION SHARED EARLIER?????

I don't know how strict they get later in the day, but at 9 in the morning, they were letting teens & adults ride, too.

Alison....I bet we did see each other's family...one day you said it stopped raining and went to the pool, well we did the same thing...Too bad you don't have pool pics of your family...

Still working on my pics....

Next time let's plan together and we can do everything together...LOL
