Are we sure about this Wonder Refurb?

I'm considering booking CL on the Wonder in 2017 but won't be happy if there isn't a lounge. I've read multiple times that there is a refurb scheduled for 2016. I can't imagine Disney would leave the Wonder as the only ship with no lounge. Would you feel comfortable that in 2017 there will be a CL aboard?

Well, the space the put the Concierge Lounge on the Magic is already taken by the Outlook Cafe on the Wonder. The Outlook Cafe is one of the main features for the Alaska cruises.

So, it is not a question of just doing the same as they did on the Magic. I think they want to add a lounge, but I have no idea if they manage to do it. If the lounge is a deal breaker for you, I would not rely on it being added.

Since concierge deposits are non-refundable, I would wait until there is a formal announcement from Disney that they are adding a lounge. Either that or ask the DIS poster who states they are sure there will be one to cover your deposit losses! :)

You also have to remember the lounge wasn't added until the second dry dock, not the first overhaul.

The wonder has been using Outlook as their Lounge. Certain hours of each day, and then sometimes at other times, it is closed to everyone else. My speculation is they'd just turn it into the lounge full time. But without a formal announcement, if that's a deal breaker I'd say don't book the Wonder.

We're booked on the Wonder in 2017. We hope there is a lounge as we enjoyed the one on the Fantasy last month. But when we sailed on the Magic in January, we had a great time, too. So we're just keeping an open mind. They did keep the Magic lounge a bit hush-hush until not long before the opening.

I sure hope there is a cl lounge coming to the wonder. I hate being with regular guests all the time. Us upper class people just need to get away from the lower class people from time to time.
Bwah HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Count me as one who hopes they do NOT turn the Outlook into a concierge lounge. In fact, I'd be very pleased if they just left the Wonder the way it is, and much more likely to book another cruise on her as well. Enough is enough of taking away more and more from us regular passengers in an obvious money grab trying to get more concierge guests.

I love Outlook on the Wonder too. We spent a lot of time there when we sailed to Alaska on her!

I was just on the Wonder Alaska cruise over the summer and at least from what the crew were saying, the Wonder will be getting a refurbishment next. No one was sure of the details, but I sailed with the cruise director before and we're remained in touch. From what he knows, the Outlook cafe will not be turned into a CL, but did hint that one is probably coming.

Wonder or fantasy first?
