We had to stay at a Hampton Inn this weekend for one night and had a room with two double beds.

We walk in and are looking around and DD says "Are we all sleeping in the same room? Where is the other bedroom?".

LOL, she's spoiled by DVC. We had to tell her this isn't like Disney where she gets her own huge special bed (the foldout).

Oh, yeah...... we are spoiled, too!

That extra room makes our vacation wonderful! I read once that vacations have a higher level of stress than anticipated because most families are not used to being in one, small room together for a period of time. It certainly affects us: with two that like to rise early, 2 that want to sleep late, and a baby.

Ah, the luxury of space. We stayed at AKL Thanksgiving of 2001 and were disasppointed mostly due to the lack of space.

Hi Jeff,
I take it you were able to find the points you needed to extend your December trip.
Anyway, I thought our DS8 was going to cry before we went down last month when he found out we were staying at AKL and we were going to be in one room. What, no bedrooms? No separate TV? He adjusted well once we were there but I too was surprised by how quickly my kids adapted to the "home" feeling.

In 2001 my family of four stayed 6 nights at All Star Music. I was laying on the bed watching the Vacation Club infomercial, my DW complaining about lack of room, my two kids running and climbing all over each other. Called member services, set up and appointment and I was sold in 5 minutes.

I am spoiled and proud of it. I am thankful that I was able to join DVC and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a love for Disney and enjoys a taste of the good life.:p

Have a great Disney day.

Yep, we're spoiled too! We wont even think of staying in a studio anymore! Not even when it is just the two of us! I can't imagine getting along without a laundry room and kitchen!

Add us to the list of those spoiled by DVC. Even though there are only three of us, we now look for Homewood Suites or something similar when we're traveling somewhere other than WDW. Even those aren't really good enough anymore.....no washers & dryers in the units! :)

Yes, I did find the extra point I needed thanks to another wonderful DISer. The extra day I got to have was just wonderful.

Check out Embassy Suites, and Homewood Suites. We've stayed in both of them and like the space and separate rooms they provide. Also had good luck at Doubletree Suites. Haven't tried Amerisuites yet. I think one bedroom hotel setups are on the rise, it sure helps with kids.

The options of studios are nice for those very high point seasons, where it is the option of not going or staying in a studio. How much time do you really stay in your room anyway, when it's sunshine and swimming at DVC resorts, and snowing back home. Off to the beach!!!
