Are we Normal???

When I am at home, I dont worry about germs. However, I am germaphobic in public. I carry antibacterial hand gel and baby wipes in my car. I have antibacterial gel and lotion in my purse, and in my backpack for school I have antibacterial towellettes (individually wrapped). DH laughes at me, but Im crazy that way I cant handle the thought of other peoples germs, but I am okay with my families

Sadly it has become normal for parents to teach their kids to lie, or "fib" as you put it in order to get what they want. Why lie in front of your child, why not just be truthful and tell the server that the utensils you were provided did not meet your standard and ask for new ones?

No, not really, and you might want to stop before infecting your kids with your quirks. I've been a waitress - I certainly wouldn't be offended if a customer wanted a fork without crusty food attached! When my kids were little, I'd bring disposable mats for them to eat on (when they were at the age of tossing plates off of the table). Toilet seats are probably one of the cleanest areas of public restrooms. I do try to elbow my way out of the door, because not everyone washes hands. I do carry hand sanitizing spray, but use it when my kids go bowling, gymnastics, the playground - where I know they are picking up germs on their hands. During the school year, I keep a pump container by the door, to use when they get home.

I do carry wipes and we will clean our hands with them before eating out, but we don't wipe down the table. At WDW we go through a lot of wipes in the parks because we'll use them before every meal or snack to freshen up our hands before eating.

The kids call me "Natalie" or "Sharona" (from Monk) when I pass out the wipes for us to use.
