Are we Insane??

It sounds like the makings of a great time, in my opinion. No insanity there. :thumbsup2

4 weeks - 2 off property in a villa and 2 dvc. It was great!

Of COURSE you're buying annual passes?

So, we are scheduled to leave the 22nd for 5 nights at VWL. A few weeks ago I decided to extend our trip for another 2 nights (was able to get VWL also, after a short waitlist). Now, today, we said, hey, we have the points, let's see if we can stay a few more days. So, we are now up to 11 nights. The last 4 nights are at SSR, where we have never stayed. We are very excited, just have never stayed this long.

Oh, did I mention my wife and I will be traveling with our 14 month old daughter? This will be her second (yes, second!) trip to WDW, as we took her back in April for 5 nights for our first trip home to BLT. She did great the first trip, and seemed to enjoy it (as much as an 11 month old can).

Are we insane?? How long have you stayed?

We stayed from December 28th - January 19th last year with our then 15 month old son. We had a great time even though it was freezing for a good part of the trip. We live in NH so when I say freezing, I mean it...in the 30s at night! We went back in March for a week and are going again this summer for 10 days...oh wait we added to this trip, which is now up to 14 days. I guess we have a Disney obsession. At the end of every trip we say that we will wait another year to go back and then we always miss when we are home and change our mind!

Yes it was insanity to only book 5 nights when you originally had the points for all 11. Thank goodness you have now come to your senses. Have a great time!

exactly!

The longest we've stayed so far is 12nights. That was just a few weeks ago. Not nearly long enough IMO! Next May we'll stay for 2weeks and I can't wait!

Before my kids were in school, all our WDW trips were 9-11 nights. It's hard for us to do now because we don't like to go in the summer when it's hot and crowded.

Absolutely NOT insane. It's far better to stay longer so that you can truly enjoy and relax.

We have been going to Disney for 14 nights every 6mths. So that's 28 nights per year and we love it!:cool1:

By the way, my daughter had also been to Disney twice by the time she was 14 mths. It was much easier for us when she was a baby. She ate when she needed and napped in the stroller when she needed. We went to the parks whenever she woke up and left the parks 30 min before her bedtime. It was truly relaxing. Now that both my children are older 10 and 5 yrs old...it's go in the morning, back to the resort for pool time in the afternoon and back to the park until closing. Fun :upsidedow, but sometimes exhausting.

Have a great trip and as I always say, the longer the better. More time to relax. :thumbsup2

All of you staying for this many nights must have tons of points! How do you do it? Studio stays or loads of points?

Nope! You have to start the brainwashing early! LOL The best part is, you will probably relax more going at your little one's pace and with the bigger rooms and more ammenities that DVC offers, I am sure you'll be able to do just that! Enjoy!

Sounds great! We can't wait until we can stay 10 days or more. This year we're doing 7 days in a 1BR. It'll be a great week but I'd love a few more days so that I could feel like we're getting in lots of quality time in the parks and lots of relaxing time around the resort. Someday...

Thanks for all of the great responses. We had a little magic today, and were able to switch from SSR to BWV for the 2nd part of the trip...now we are even more excited. Here's our dining line-up...your thoughts....anything we should try that we aren't? Anything to avoid?

Whispering Canyon
Chef Mickey
Tutto Italia
Le Cellier
Captain's Grill
Kona Cafe
Ohana
Les Chefs de France
Coral Reef
Mama Melrose
The Garden Grill

No Insanity at all - I truly believe you can enjoy yourselves with little ones. Just try to keep their schedule at home the same as you have at home.

My 5 yr old has been 4 times, his three year old brother 3 times (his first trip he was only 3 months old)

Have fun -we are jealous!! (But I am planning a 14 day trip for 8/2011 that includes a Disney cruise with DVC stays before and after so I am trying to contain my excitement as well!)

You are really asking the wrong group for an insanity check, unless of course you are looking for unanimous support... I am getting excited just thinking about your trip and looking at your restaurant list, and I won't even be there. obviously, I too vote for your total sanity. Have a great trip and enjoy these pre-school years while you can.

not insane at all! we'll be there on Sunday for 12 nights. our past 2 trips have been 10+ nights. long trips are the way to go.

Wow, wish we could do 11 nights. The most we've ever done is 8.

Maybe if we were able to stay a little longer we could slow down and actually enjoy our resort.

Not insane at all! If we had the chance to stay for 11 nights we would definitely do it! It will give enough time to relax and enjoy, lay by the pool and truly relax. Have fun!!

Oh and your dining looks delicious! So jealous!
