Are we going to have problems in mid-Oct?

We've been to WDW so many times that we really don't plan much in advance anymore. But in looking through this board yesterday, I suddenly realized that due to the dining plan thing, we might have problems making ADR's for mid-October - or will we?? We'll be there 10/16-10/22 and (since there's just the 2 of us) we usually only make ADR's for special places. Am I going to have trouble booking Le Cellier for lunch, for example? :scared:

HI,
I will be there Oct 13-17. I booked 2 adrs at the 90 day mark. I called last week to add 2 more and I could not get the times or days I wanted. LeCellier was the hardest one. I did get an ADR for 4:00 but I wasn't on the day that I wanted. Lunch is definitely easier to get. I was just going to wait until that day to book but the boards made me nervous. If you want to eat at LeCellier, you chould call today and try to reserve anything you can. Good Luck :goodvibes

You are going at an extremely busy time, besides food/wine fest, I believe the golf classic is going on at that time which makes the parks as full as they are in the summer and the restaurants just as busy. If there is somewhere you want to eat..I would make reservation.

pirate: We are going the week before you, and I made ADR's for the whole week just in case. I felt it's better to be safe. :goodvibes

We are going the first week of Oct and I had the hardest time getting PSs (I just called two weeks ago). When I went last year at the same time, I was able to get LC the day of!

I'm not sure if you will have problems or not since the free dining should be over by then, but I'd go ahead and make a few right now. Just in case.

We're going the same week as you 10/16-10/22 and we made ADRs two weeks ago. Le Cellier for two was not available for dinner, but you should try calling right away for lunch.

Even thought the "Free" dining plan will be over then, the Dining Plan (Paid for) is still an option. I believe many more people will be planning on eating at TS restaurants than in the past. If I were you I would worry about last minute dining plans. My thought is to book some TS meals in advance.

Well, at least I know I'm not crazy. I thought the dining thing was over by then and couldn't figure out where I'd seen that... but apparently there's a free dining plan and a paid dining plan. We won't be doing the dining plan because we're DVC members and eat some of our meals at the villa. We'll have to figure out our plans now and call tomorrow for ADR's.

And I also heard that mid Oct. was NOT busy, and now it sounds like it might be. We normally go in September. Oh well, at least we can say we did the F&W Festival!

I don't think mid-October will be all that busy parks-wise, but I think a lot of people are making ADR's who might not otherwise do so, because of the dining plan, paid or free. Unfortunately, I suspect many of these ADR's are multiple ones. If Disney would require a credit card hold on ALL ADR's, I bet a lot of ADR's would open up.

I went in October last year (and again this year) and it is great - not crowded and the weather is great!!

I agree with you. I think they should put some sort of credit card hold on all ADR's. On a side note, Why are all my posts today just agreeing with other people's posts? Geez, apparently I'm not feeling creative today, or I'm just lazy. :teeth: :maleficen
