Are We Crazy??

Is it just us or did anyone else find themselves adding on or in elements to their wedding that other people see as cuckoo?

We have now decided that we would like to catch the 8:00 performance of The British Invasion before the Dessert Party. We are freaks for this band and have seen them at least two dozen times during our last two trips...it's to the point that they recognize us when they play!

My family things I'm looney but I'm trying to make this into "the day I'll never forget"....Help me out here Disney Brides so I can show my family that there are other people like us out there.

Please??? And if you say we are weirdos...I'll accept it and move on, lol!

DH2B and I LOVE British Invasion too. He wants to hire them to play at the reception.
I definitely don't think you're crazy. In fact, I would love to be able to fit them into our schedule too!!!

If you can't make it your Fairy Tale, why have it at Disney? As long as you plan in transportation for guests from point to point I'm sure you'll find it quite reasonable to do your plan. Here is what we did:

Ceremony WP
Cocktail Hour VIP Lounge - Living Seas (used half the room for this)
Reception and Dancing - VIP Lounge - Living Seas (used other half of room)
Candlelight Processional - American Adventure
Illumination DP at UK Terrace (in the "old days" you go the whole thing, not just part!)

We used one of the buses for everyone, and had no complaints. As the evening got a bit long for anyone the bus would make a trip back to the hotels of any guests who wanted to leave and then come back to where we were to pick up anyone else or to move the group to the next site. Nobody waited for more than a few minutes, as we circulated letting folks know the bus was going to make a run.

No way- you are not crazy. It's your and DF's day and you guys should make it as memorable as you guys want it. If that is what is going to make your guys day great then go all out. What is a FTW unless it is to your standards and what you want to make it.

I really love all of you! Thanks so much for all your kind words. It's funny...we all start and/or contribute to these stess rant threads and each one of us is also there to console and encourage. Being a Disney bride gives you a certain responsibility to helping others dreams be as big as yours.

Shouldn't it be our family's job to do this? Seriously, if I didn't have you all, I'd REALLY be crazy and I still have 7 months to go!

Since we're such Beatles fans, we are definitely doing the British Invasion thing and yes, we are hiring the bus for everyone to travel in and we're getting two scooters for his grandma and great aunt. Nobody will be inconvenienced.

It kind of stinks how family just quite doesn't understand things. So glad to have everyone here who we all understand and know the stresses of things and are able to encourage each other into making our dreams come true.

I think it is so FABULOUS that you are doing all you can to make this into an incredible day for you both...I mean it's the START of your new life together, a new chapter in your life...if that doesn't call for an ALL OUT celebration, nothing does!!!

We have GOT to stop letting our families and friends and well meaning Aunt Hilda's make us feel badly for the things we want in our weddings...Why don't I cut out one of the entrees at the reception b/c then it would be WAAAY cheaper...well geez, I don't WANT it to be CHEAPER...this is our wedding day, and I'm not going to skimp on anything...GRRRRRR

if y'all can afford it hun, then y'all need to go all out!!!! HAVE A BLAST!!!!
