I would caution you with ground floor. Everyone walks by your room and usually are talking in loud, excited voices, calling ahead to others, scolding, yelling, etc. You are on the main walkway, unless you don't go preferred and have standard, parking lot view. Even then, you have hundreds of people passing by your room. It is quite noisy. I would suggest 4th floor if you can do it with your hip. You could still be closest to the food court & busses, but the only people passing by should be the other people up there on the same floor. I used to request a standard room in 50's section, bldg 1, high floor. I was a few yards from the side entrance to the main bldg Classic Hall, so not out in rain or sun long, and then you are inside, to to go to food court or buses. (I usually carried my refillable mug with me and filled it before going out to buses. It was very convenient.) I was able to use stairs, but you might need elevator. You will still be "in the middle of the action". Disney resorts & parks are staying pretty full & crowded most of the time now, and with Toy Story Land opening June 30, it will still be busy. A mother/daughter trip sounds lovely. End of July, I hope the SA tour groups have left, and you have wonderful trip. Remember your sunblock!
edit: you can see fireworks surprisingly well from 50's section, bldg 1, upper floor, if you are back at Pop at that time.
