Are we crazy for even considering this?

We're actually talking about going to WDW next month to see the Christmas decorations. It would have to be a short trip, only 3 nights, and we would be driving (unless we get a really good deal on flights). It's very spur of the moment and I don't even know if we can get a room, but we're actually talking like we're going to do it. Are we being foolish? Would you go 1000 miles, one way, for 3 nights at WDW?

There really isn't much that can compare to Disney at Christmas!

We drove last December for 4 nights. We're about 1100 miles away. It wasn't so bad. We stopped about every three hours to fill up and get out and stretch. We left about 7a.m and got to ASMo before 10a.m. the next day. We stopped in Tallahassee (sp?) to spend the night around midnight and on the way back we stopped is Mississippi and a casino and gambled away the rest of our vacation money for the night and continued back home the next day. I don't think its crazy at all

Here's another option. Since you are considering driving the entire way, can you drive to Atlanta or another airport enroute and fly partway? You might get a great off-season rate that would save you 6 hours on the road.

Well, I drove almost 900 miles for TWo nights for the Chicago meet last month...so sure, I'd probably do it for WDW! Go for it...hope to see you there

I would do it in a heart beat., I have done just the 4 nights, although I flew. I was in a plane for over 21 hrs to get to Australia. and sitting in a plane or a car is the same thing to me. Go for it, you'll have a ball
