Are We Crazy? A question concerning Universal

Hi! I'm one of the many lurkers to come out of the woodwork on Pete's lurker thread, and now, in an effort to commit to a more active role around the boards, I'd like to ask a question, if it's not too much trouble! I hope this isn't an inappropriate question for the podcast board, but with all of the Universal talk going around, I thought I'd go for it.

So, here it goes. Are we crazy?

My friends and I, all in college but not yet 21, are trying to organize a weekend trip to Universal, since we're all feeling the irresistible tug of that famous kid in round glasses and a robe. I know a lot of hotels require someone to be 21 in order to book, but can we find a hotel that would let us book it? Or should we just hang up our robes and go back to using our imaginations? I don't know if anyone under 21 ever travels by themselves, but I imagine someone must have managed it!

However, I don't want to get excited about the possibility of this happening if realistically, it can't.

Does anybody know of any options we might have? If not, will somebody let me know if I might as well throw in the towel?

Thank you so much! Hope I did alright for my first new thread, and didn't do something wrong (Can you tell this is a little scary for me?)!

 Welcome to the Unplugged board!

I am only just 21 (turned 21 in December) and I started planning, and booking, the trip just after my 21st birthday, however I had planned to go when I turned 20, and as long as you have a debit/ credit card, no one seemed to care what age you were. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I got!

The only issue you will have is that you won't be able to hire a car, but you can work around that. We have, since it is still stupidly expensive if you are under 25.

I hope this has helped, or that someone else can help. And don't worry, this was a great post! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much! That actually makes me feel a lot better, especially since we all have the debit card doubling as a credit card thing, as opposed to purely credit. Maybe that won't be a problem either?

Haha, I just really want this to get off the ground. Thanks for the input!

We traveled when I was only 20 and stayed at a Disney resort. They didn't care nor did they ask how old I was. As long as I gave them a credit card they were ok. I did have a non-debit credit card though, but I don't think that would matter either. Have a great trip!

Edit: Okay, I take that back, I was 21. But I still don't think it would matter
