Well, I know this doesn't effect many on the Gatwick/Manchester/Glasgow aircraft as the PE doesn't have laptop power yet, but to add to the removal of the revivals suite, the (temporary, but when we are flying) Clubhouse, the lack of IFE upgrades, the reduction in baggage allowance, the removal of many items such as the silk red pilolows, the flowers from the bar etc etc, they have now pulled yet ANOTHER marketing "enhancement"!!

Yes, instead of supplying fir free for the journey, laptop power leads, because they have not put in decent standard US plug sockets, rather the empower lsockets, so you cannot just plug your charger in, they are going to only have in flight power leads to buy!

Good old Virgin - must admit, Obi, never thought I'd see the say when you were having a pop at them.

Well, even I have my limits, and with the recent "enhancements" they have broke the camels back.
What made them different to the rest has now gone, with BA upping its quality in the Terrace lounges, BA, United, US Air all having flat beds, the quality of the iFE and the food, enough is enough when its coming out of my own pocket.
As I have said in my pretrip report, choosing Virgin as my one and only preferred airline has now gone.

Next year my first airline of choice will be BA

IKWYM about VA, Obi. I'm all about the price nowadays so it's down to who can get me to where I want to be in maximum comfort for minimum price. We're flying to Barbados with VA at Easter but only because we could use miles for our son...

Had a few negative BA experiences in the past but flew Club Europe to/from Spain this year and were pleasantly surprised - the lounge at Gatwick North was comfortable and the staff onboard superb so wouldn't hesitate to use again...

We have always flown with Virgin but the prices and the general standard of customer service have started to make us think elsewhere.

Even with miles & money our Premium Economy flights are over £3200 for next August.
Not necessarily just VA related but the overall cost of the holiday is just getting out of hand and is made worse obviously by the fact we feel we can't really take Joshua unless we book PE.

If BA flew direct from Manchester we would definitely consider using them.

Me too. I would never pay for Premium Economy (although it's nice to get upgraded). This year we managed to save £300 over Virgin and £350 over BA by flying American Airlines. It adds three hours each way to our journey. That means we're saving £50 an hour!
