Are UGGS still popular where you live?

not seen uggs here much, but still warm as well. The boat shoes,Sperry's are in. Looked at Tom's site, I like them actually, but I wonder how long they last, if they have any support. Anyone have some?

My DD loves Toms and says they're super comfortable. But for reference, Rainbow flip flops are her other go to shoe of choice, and neither are known for good arch support.

Depending on the style/fabric Toms do get a well worn look fairly quickly, but I think that's supposed to be part of the appeal. Many styles look worn even when brand new.

DD had one pair that only lasted about 6 months before she had a toe hole, and I don't think that issue is all that uncommon, at least with the classics. In fairness, she has had other Toms that lasted longer though.

Personally I don't know that Toms would be high on my list if durability and support are top priorities. Like I said, great concept though.

Their popularity has peaked here in the Northwest but we'll still see them very often this winter I think. However, the original popular style boot with the suede is pretty much out. Their other newer styles, including shoes, etc are what people are wearing now instead.

My DD opted for no Uggs this year. But she still does love her Ugg slippers.

Toms and Uggs are popular here. I am tired of seeing Uggs worn with shorts. That drives me nuts.

Yes I believe they are. I take the fam out shopping to the Hamptons every Labor Day weekend for the sales at end of Summer. We were in a store where UGGS were displayedand wow, my girls went ballistic. They were a good price and they make them for all seasons. So I say they are still a good choice, but waiting for the ext trend to start.

My dd took her's out of the closet and her friend is asking for the Jimmy Choo ones for Christmas so I guess they are still popular.
I wear mine to walk the dog so I don't care if they are in or not

I hope so since I was able to get a couple of clearance pairs at the end of summer for the girls for Christmas.

They've started fading out in the Los Angeles area. Agree with others - Toms are the new "thing" now.

popular in chicago love the classic short red sparkle myself

Actually no, they're really not. People are probably still wearing ones they already owned.

Riding Boots are in.

I, personally, just got these:

They're ECCO brand, and I love 'em.

If you like UGGS, great - but they're not really *in* anymore, no.

Great responses!

This thread started because we were in NYC this past weekend and I wore my UGGS. I honestly did not see a lot of them so I was wondering what different areas of the country was doing. I still am going to get another pair since we are allowed to wear them to school (elementary grades) and yes, I do like them.

I did check out Toms, but I do not like the look of their wrap boots and while NJ isn't exactly the North, the winter stinks here and they do not seen practical.

I have been seeing the riding/slouch boots, but I like the casual look of UGGS with cords- my choice for work, and jeans.

The "toms" look like the old fish head shoes from the 50's...

What about Hunter Wellies with wool socks? They were all over NYC last winter...

I don't ever want to give up my UGGS. I just bought a new short pair.

I do have a thing for ugly looking shoes. I have flat feet and a bone spur. UGGS are the only shoes I have found which are always comfortable.

I don't think they are very in style.

I also have these BORN Boots(the ones on the left):

I bought them last season, end of season. I got a *steal* on them (but made up that difference in those Ecco's I bought, above. Ouch!)

The amount of compliments I get on them is reeeeeeee-diculous. Constantly. I don't even get it, but I'll take it.

UGGS are good for what they are, warm, fuzzy boots. But not to make fashion statements, IMO.

I love boots. I have some more stylish riding boots (like the ones pictured above) in black and brown that I wear for work, mostly. But for weekends running errands and not doing anything fancy, I just love my UGGS!

Yeah, they're warm and fuzzy. I actually had a cheapee pair, that I liked better than my UGGS. After using the heck out of the cheapee's, I bought a pair of UGGS, and no matter what I do, I end up with an ankle blister in them, unless I wear socks - which IMO, defeats the purpose.

I wish I hadn't thrown out the cheapees.

Amazon is having a sale right now on Bearpaws. 25% off. They are just as nice as the Uggs I hear. I just ordered my DD a pair for Chaunukah. $35 with free shipping and no tax!:thumbsup2

I was going to wait till black Friday, but figured I wouldn't do any better than that and this way, I know I have them.

To answer OP's question, sadly, yes they are. There is nothing worse than seeing teens running around in these thing while wearing pajama pants.

:rotfl2: I'm 30 and I do that sometimes! When I drop my oldest off at preschool (I don't have to get out we have carpool) I will sometimes have to run to Target or the store to get milk. I will sometimes wear my pj pants with my Costco Uggs!
