Are they rude?

I was getting inspired by everyone who posted about calling and getting codes by their names. So I have called about 3 times in the past week and every CM I have gotten acts like I am bothering them when I ask them to check. Does anyone else find this?
And one other question, if you do have a code by your name does anyone know how long it stays there?
Thanks!!

If you have a code.. it stays there until the booking window on that code closes.

Remember - these folks on the phone have a 'quota' to make and each phone they field that isn't about booking a vacation puts them behind their quota for the day.

I know that's not very "magical" to think in these business-like terms.. but for those people calling daily or sometimes multiple times a day, it's something to think about.

Calling once every 7 days is plenty I would think in this circumstances.

Just my opinion.. I'm not sayin anything against those who choose to call more often. :)

I don't think they are rude, but maybe just tired of looking them up for people I don't know. Maybe they are not all as knowledgable as some. I have called several times in the last week or so and been told no everytime. The lady I just talked to today found one that she said at first was on my name under the address I grew up at. When she tried the December dates it didn't work. So she got on the phone with guest services. It turns out the code was under my husbands name and on our first house address which we moved out of about 7 years ago. But it turns out it was just the code for some kind of ticket upgrade and was only good to travel until March 15. She did say to keep trying though. She spent about 10 minutes going through and updating all three of our names and addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. Maybe that will trigger some kind of code. I'll just have to wait and see. I'll call back again in a couple days to check.

I had a great CM this morning who spent about 20 minutes searching for 'the code'. She was very good and very courteous. She updated all of my old information and found my code. Guess today was my lucky day for CM's (although I have rarely had a bad CM).

I've never had anyone be rude but they've made it clear that they don't want to check. As a matter of fact, most of the time they won't check. They just tell me that if I had a code then I would've gotten a postcard.

Not sure about rude, but some are helpful while others are not. I have the code and booked my August trip last week. I called today and the CM acted like she didn't have a clue of what I was asking her. I was told by the CM last week that I have both a 30% and a 40% code between my hubby and I. I thought I would check out other dates, but gave up after being frustrated by today's CM. I just don't think we should have to work this hard to get a discount.

I have definetly had some rude CM''s when asking about codes.
I always state that I am interested in booking, but would like them to search for any possible codes/pins that I may have attached to my name/email/home address before hand.
Each CM looks for literally 10 seconds before telling me "no". (I have never had one say 'yes') I keep reading about people calling and having CM's really search for 5-10 minutes to help them.
What gives?
I do have an AP, does that hurt my chances?

This has been my experience as well.

We have has annual passes for years.......at least 2 trips every year since WDW opened and they claim there is never a code.
I just think it is a roll of the dice....

Boy, did I have a good one today when I called! She hung in there with me, while I joked around with her (on my dime, of course) but never did, hard as she tried, find me a code. I still had fun with her, and in the end, she told me she enjoyed talking with me too!
It's the luck of the draw who you get, and what kind of mood they're in. I really wanted to give this particular CM a booking, but she couldn't "produce"...it sure is my turn for a code!!

I have a code, even offered to tell them the code off of the postcard. I have probably been flagged b/c I have now called 4 times to check availability and change dates. Twice I had amazing CM who helped me in every way possible. The other two were somewhat put off that I was revising a reservation and not making a new one. One of the rude CM got snippy when I asked to make a second reservation (we usually visit a couple of times/year). She told me that I could not make a second reservation using the code and told me to have a good day. Fortunately I knew enough to call back and get a helpful CM.

It's funny you mentioned quotas. I called last week to get pricing and just couldn't make up my mind. The CM was so nice I finally asked him if he was commissioned. Because being commissioned myself I understand what it is like. I then went on to say, cuz if you are I will force myself to make up my mind right now for you....but if not I will let you go. He said, "i can't discuss that....have a nice day" and hung up. Wow....didn't mean to insult him - just wanted to ensure he got the sale when I booked.

Yes, I have gotten some rude cms when asking about codes. Also, every single one of them denies codes are ever attached to anyone's name. They say email or postcards are the only ways to get codes that are not available to eveyone else.

today my cm was FAR from rude I called saying I'm in the process of making a reservation, I got a code last year and was wondering if there was one under my name again this year. All of that was VERY true!.. but I will say she was as slow as a snail, maybe its their computers but man 1hr20min to make some reservations! I made grilled cheese sandwiches for the kids, corn, cleaned the kitchen put a load of laundry in, cleaned half my bathroom all while on the phone with disney!

Has anyone ever been told by a CM to look online? I booked online then had questions about flights I booked through Disney Travel and the very nice CM, Hilton, said if you did have one it would have shown when you booked online. He did however look just to make sure.

It really is a shame that Disney has the CMs on strict quotas. A call is a call and should be counted as such....you shouldnt just get credit if only if you book a trip. If people want to book, they will book, but if they are just calling to check rates, or look for a code, they shouldnt be subjected to rude CM's who dont have the time to waste.

Something just tells me that if the CMs did not have booking quotas, Disney reservations would not suffer.

So I have called about 3 times in the past week and every CM I have gotten acts like I am bothering them when I ask them to check. Does anyone else find this?

I have found the CMs on the phones to be totally unpredictable. Some have given me incorrect info, and others have gone out of their way to be friendly. Just keep calling and don't worry about it.

I don't know about rude or not, but I had priced out WL last week to see if I had the code...I had one, but not the 40% off. After talking to AAA, I find I could get a better deal through them. So I called on Friday to cancel my reservation (I didn't make a deposit, so I know I didn't need to call...). I had told the CM that I'm calling about a reservation, gave her the # & then asked if I had any codes attached to my name. She told me only the one you already used. Ok, I thanked her & then asked her to cancel it for me because I could get it cheaper through AAA.

Well then on Saturday, my SIL got a postcard in the mail, so I got it in me that I NEEDED to call again...so I did, well come to find out I'm no longer in the system anywhere?! How's that?? Couldn't find me by name, number, nothing. So I got re-set up, but that really ticked me off. I had never had that happen to me before.

Just a reminder that if the code is public you are allowed to mention it here. If it isn't please keep it off the board. No mention to PM you the information. Thank you.

how about this situation: I got the card in the mail, 40% off, great! The card came Sat. and I was tied up at the base all of Sun so I didn't get to call. Put the card by my keys on the kitchen island Sun. night so I could take it to work with me Mon and call as soon as they open. Mon morning the card is gone! Can't find it anywhere, it walked away! Call CRO today and the cm can't find anything for this year, but she finds a code from last year- that I never received. She transfers me to guest services, same thing, both my mother and I had 2007 codes attached, that neither of us ever received, nothing for this year. I asked if the date could have been entered incorrectly, since this is only Jan, she says no. Then she tells me if I can't find the card I'm out of luck. Any suggestions other then call back later and see if another cm is more helpful?
