Are they refurbishing BWV's??????

I read something about major refurbishment at BWV's. Does anyone know anything about this? Would this make a bad experience for first timers?

Yes they are. Basically, there are repairing and repainting the outsides of the rooms (insides have been redone already except Grand Villas are being done now). Currently, they are working on the boardwalk units and there is scaffolding although all shops are open; that is to continue until May 24. They are also working on a portion of the quiet pool area (although that is supposed to end tomorrow). On Monday, they are to begin on units in the Luna Pool area and that area will likely take several months (they don't do the whole area at once). They are also planning other areas including standard rooms and work will likely continue throughout this year. I would say having the boardwalk area with scaffolding creates some sense of not having everything perfect for a first timer; however work on other areas like Luna Park Pool will likely not have much impact (just that you will be able to see some scaffolding from the pool).

hi: all the resorts are refurbished on a regular basis. they are always doing something at each resort. when we were at bwv the first week of november, there was scaffolding up around the quiet pool units and the hallway carpets were being replaced on the 4th floor. last may, they were working on some of the balconies of the standard view units as well as on the entrance to the lobby. they try to be as unobtrusive as possible.

The rooms that they are actually working on of course are not rented out. So you will not walk on to your balcony and be surronded by scaffolding. Also, there is limited availability because of this.

We stayed at the BWV 2 weeks ago and the scaffolding didn't make for a bad experience. Just the first section was being refurbished so it wasn't total scaffolding on the Boardwalk. The atmosphere was so fun that I hardly noticed everything.
