Are They No Longer Asking for Phone or Reservation # for ADRs?

I just called to switch my DS's birthday dinner, & got what he wanted. :cool1: At least, I hope I did. The CM took my DH's 1st & last name & gave me a time & confirmation #. That's really all the info we need, but they usually ask us for more. She didn't ask for a reservation or phone #. When she asked for ages, I told her our DS turns 17 that day. She didn't even acknowledge that I had mentioned his birthday. When I asked if she had noted it, she said, "Oh, I will." We're going to order a cake, so the birthday notification isn't a big deal. I do want to make sure we have an ADR though. Should I call back? I have to call to cancel the Nine Dragons ADR we had anyway. She didn't give me time to do that either. :sad2: She really couldn't get off the phone fast enough. My DH said she's probably watching the superbowl like the rest of us. :p

I just called the other day to add on a res. DH made the initial call and I swear he needed our reservation number. This time she just asked me for our home phone number and that was it.

They don't need a reservation number if it's within 90 days, but I would *think* they'd still ask for a phone number. Maybe the CM just looked up dh's name in the system to get the number and forgot to verify?

They have always asked for phone number but I called last week to make an adr and the cm didn't ask. Just took my name. I thought it was odd.

I'm glad to see others haven't been asked for either #. Maybe, this is one of the new changes to the ADR system. :confused3

Just a thought when I called today I had to enter my phone number in before I ever spoke with a CM - maybe with the new system upgrades they all now have this information without having to ask for it because it carries thru from when you type it in.:)

Me, too -- my call this morning at my 90 day mark first had me key in my phone number. Then when I got a CM, since I was staying onsite and wanted ressies beyond 90 days, she asked for my resort ressie number, which I gave, and then I was able to book everything. If you're within 90 days, I think keying in your phone number would do it now.

That makes sense, but I wasn't prompted to enter my phone number either. I hope I called Disney. :rotfl: I did choose option 1 "for those in the local area". Maybe, that's why. I'm going to call back to cancel the 9 Dragons ADR. I'll double check it then.

Maybe their system upgrades involve an integrated caller-id. If it works right all they have to check is if your name matches a room ressie in the system linked to that phone number.

When I call my local pizza place I tell them what I want and they say "Will that be going to 1234 Main St?" I never tell them my name or number.

Just a thought. :)

I made ADRs last week and had to give my phone number and reservation number. I realized after I hung up that he never asked for my first name:confused3 . I suppose it doesn't matter, they'll look us up by last name when we check in.

The CM that made my ADRs seemed half asleep so I hope everything's okay. He only gave me the spiel about allowing ample travel time, arrive at the podium 10 minutes prior, non-smoking, and how many credits on the ddp the meal would take after the first ADR I made. For eqch subsequent one I got dead silence after he gave me the confirm number and I had to say, "are you ready for the next one."

I wonder if I need to worry:lmao::confused3 ??!!!

We're driving over for the day & don't have a reservation #. That would make sense though.

She did ask for my DH's 1st name. He has a pretty common name though. When we lived in NC, 3 counties in a row had a Sr, Jr, & III of the same name. The 3 seniors weren't related. It's that common.

The phone systems have ALWAYS shown the cm your phone number. They should take it to verify but maybe they were being lazy

I called sat to book all our adr's, and they asked for my phone # and res #...?

I called yesterday and made all of our ADR's except for Chef Mickey's. They did ask for our reservation # and all details. BTW, it was SUPER easy!!!! I got everything and I'm thrilled!!!:cool1: I was thinking that it would be terribly hard to get what I wanted from what I had been told before, but apparently, it was no problemo! How wonderful! So, yes, they asked for all of my info.

However, I called 2 weeks ago and made an ADR for Chef Mickey's Fun Time Buffet (breakfast) and they did not ask our reservation #, but they did get our name and pulled up our info and asked at what resort we were going to be staying. So, that was different.

Hopefully, if they give you a confirmation # and keep it handy during your vacation, you should be good. I hope!;)

I called twice today, first call the girl asked me for my res number (which at that time I didn't have) so I only made ADR's within my 90 days. I called back later armed with my Res number and she didn't ask me for it at all :confused3 I guess it depends on their training.

I needed to book some ADRs for our May trip, so I cancelled the 9 Dragons ADR & checked on the Biergarten ADR (the ADR that prompted this thread). The CM I got today was very nice. She inquired about special occasions, & added the birthdays w/o me needing to ask. Incidentally, she asked for a phone #, but didn't ask for a 1st or last name. I'm assuming they have that info on file. I asked if our ADRs would be listed in my or my DH's 1st name, in case we needed the info at the podium. She said it didn't matter. We could give them either.

As far as the Biergarten ADR I asked her to check on it to make sure everything was okay. Obviously, she noticed the phone # I gave her earlier, & the # on that ADR was different. She quoted a # that I've never heard of. I have no idea how that CM came up with that number. It wasn't from caller ID, because I made both calls from the same phone. Today's CM said the number she had on caller ID was the same as the # I had given here. :confused3 Anyway, I'm glad I called. I feel better about it now.

PS: Sorry, this is so long. I thought the info may help someone with doubts in the future.

If you are making that initial, first time call, to make ADRs, and you want to make them for your entire stay, you will be asked for your reservation number. Only WDW resort guests are allowed to book those 10 days of their trip all at once.
If you are calling to make a change to an existing ADR, then no, they won't need to ask for your reservation number again. They already have it. Same thing if you want to make additions and they have brought up your 'file', so to speak.

I booked with AAA, do I just give that reservation number when making ADR's? I know it's a diiferent number than what you get from Disney reservations.

Thanks!
Carla
