Hi, been trying to contact Keith Prowse tickets and its been engaged for days and my tickets are due, then tonight it says this number is no longer recognised. They are not replying to emails either. I know that Theme park tickets are a part of this group and that they have went under as we had bought tickets from them. Any news welcome.

Ouch :headache: That's sad.

Tommy, I really hope you manage to sort something.

I am really shocked to read this, I hope that the people affected by this can get their money back. :(

Anyone that has paid by credit card is legally entitled to a full refund and should contact the credit card company you used.

If you paid by check you are likely to get little or nothing back.

Good luck hope it works out.

Or a Section 75 refund if you paid by debit card.

All the best to anyone affected by this. Scary thing: Last year it would have been me :scared1: I had some tickets from KP last year.

Last year we purchased our tickets in advance, I'm not to sure from whom but the service we received was great and I had no complaints whatsoever, however, in light of now 2 agents going under I feel quite inclined to pay the extra and get them direct from Universal for next year :sad2:

You know it really sucks when you work hard throughout the year, pay your money over innocently and then get stung for it :sad1:

I hope you paid by credit card :thumbsup2

I think a lot of people, having either been burnt in the recent past, or know of someone who has, are doing the same. This certainly doesn't help other ticket companies in any way, but it seems the safest option.

this is going a tiny bit off topic, but i have been thinking about this for a while.....

if you have paid by credit card and already paid the balance off, how are the credit card company going to help you? will they still give you the money back in some way?

Consumer credit act, section 75 doesn't apply to debit cards.

The best bet for debit cards is the VISA debit chargeback scheme but claims must be lodged within 120 days of the transaction.
It's similar to S75 but doesn't have the legal backing.

Section 75 of consumer credit act makes the CC issuer jointly responsible for the delivery of the goods. So if the original supplier goes into administration as per KP, you can claim back the cost. Any breach of contract makes the CC company jointly liable.

Note the good's cost must be more than £100 each, so if the tickets were less than £100 each then Section 75 doesn't come into play, even if the total cost was more than £100.

Here endeth the lurk ;)

What a shame - i hope you get your money back or at least your tickets. Just read the article and it does say the priority is to get tickets out to customers (i think that's what it meant) so hopefully you will be ok. I purchased twice previously with Attraction Tickets Direct but it does make you think twice doesn't it? and you never know who the "parent" company is that could be the one in trouble. In this day and age of economic climate it's so difficult to make a saving just in case!

Good luck anyway

Thats awful, i really hope anyone affected get their money back and tickets sorted ok for their trips.

To be honest i always used to buy my tickets from attraction tickets direct or dreams unlimited. I now usually get a DVC Annual pass from Disney but still have to buy tickets for the other parks, it will really make me think about who i use from now on.

Exactly! I work for a credit insurance company and alot of the claims we see are for parent companies not paying up/meeting obligations and many of them coming close to insolvency. Its scary to think how many would be affected if some of these parent companies went under!
