Hey everyone!!

I need help figuring out if the places I booked are good. I have booked ; cinderella's royal table, ohana, coral reef, chefs de France, be our guest, chef mickey's.

I would love your opinions! Thanks!!

You will get very mixed reviews for Coral Reef and Chef Mickeys. We love going to both so if the menu and atmosphere look good to you don't let anyone sway you. I think you made great choices!

It would be helpful if you indicated breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the restaurants. You will get a lot of different responses from everyone if you dont.

Ohana breakfast - we love it. Great food & pretty/relaxing atmosphere
Ohana dinner - we didnt like the food. Poor quality meat and it was dried out. Potstickers were dry, the wings were slimy. Only good items were salad, bread, and dessert.
Chefs de france - the menu is different at lunch and dinner. I had the beef short ribs and OMG it was heaven!!!! My son also loved his roast chicken. The apps and desserts are wonderful too.
Chef Mickeys breakfast - I thought it was just ok. I think everyone should try it at least once thou. Cute characters.

Okay, here is the run down of what where

Cinderella's castle- lunch
Ohana- dinner (maybe I will change it now)
Chef mickeys- dinner
Coral reef- dinner
Chefs de France- dinner
Be our guest- dinner
Akershus royal banquet- breakfast( I forgot to put this one in the original post)

Oh yeah and I am going to need one more place!! Favorite places anyone??

Thanks for your help!

Two questions on your Chef Mickey's ressie - is it for breakfast or dinner? And is this your first trip?

Chef mickeys is dinner and yes this is our very first time going to Walt Disney world ( or any Disney park)

Ok you, have two princess meals. That's fun if you have little ones who are princess crazy but I'd choose one. Since it's a first trip I'd do CRT simply because it's a first trip and you get to eat in the castle.

I'd do CM for dinner to meet the fab 5 but only on the first night. It's an OK buffet and it's a great kick off place to get in the mood and see the characters but there is better food available however the festive atmosphere and the napkin twirling is really fun. The buffet is plentiful and you wont leave hungry but after you experience some of the better dining experiences you might be disappointed.

We had a nice time at Ohana for dinner but it isn't something I feel the need to do over and over. It was fun to see the fireworks. It is really a matter of if you like the sort of things on the menu.

I have only had BOG for lunch so I can only say the reviews I have read from people i trust have been stellar. Let me also say that I got tears in my eyes walking into the ballroom. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Now bear in mind I also have a 24 year old daughter who was 4 when she fell in love with Belle and Beast so it is the pinnacle movie from her childhood so I do have an emotional attachment to it.

We really liked Coral Reef. Some people don't. The Jack Daniels Mousse is pretty darn good.

Maybe, since you seem to really want to experience character meals you would consider breakfast at CM which is generally considered better food and having the Crystal Palace meal for either the early admission breakfast or lunch or dinner are good too. That would allow you to meet Pooh and friends and give you more variety in the characters you experience.

Tusker House in the AK also gets very good reviews. I've not been in years so I don't feel really like I can give great advice but it would give you a chance to meet Mickey and pals too.

Hope some of that helped to clear things up and not further muddy the waters. Have a wonderful first trip. First trips are so much fun and a special kind of magic!!

We have two daughters, one is six the other is almost two. And yes our six year old is princess crazy! So that may answer why we want so many character meals :).

Thank you so much it really helps a lot!!

I actually already have all the reservations booked but I can try to move them around or I can always cancel one and go with somewhere else.

What is your all time favorite restaurant? We added a day so I need to book another one.

Also maybe I won't do chef mickeys because I booked it on the second to last day of our trip.. Thoughts?

I would add in something in the World Showcase for variety. I like the San Angel Inn because the atmosphere is amazing and I like the cuisine. My son would say Teppan Edo because he loves hibachi cooking. My DH would say Biergarten because it's so much fun with the Oompah band.

In DHS I really love 50s PTC but it's the kitsch I love so much. We also really like Yak and Yeti in DAK. Do we have to stay on the dining plan? If not there are many more possibilities.

I have to say that we also like the Cape May Clambake. We loved the ability to make healthy choices from it and get our fill of lean protein and greens but once again this is based on preferences.

And all time favorite? California Grill. It's being refurbished right now though.

I'd go for breakfast at the earliest ressie on a morning MK opens at 9 OR I'd go to the MK at RD and I'd schedule the very last breakfast ADR at CM and go late so it wouldn't be so crowded for some great character time.

And it may not be so bad to go second to last night. It will have given the 2YO plenty of time to become accustomed to furry face characters so you may get better pictures. Sometimes it's hard when you meet them right away and they're little ones. If that s a priority for you. :)

Really, you're going to be at WDW for the first time! It's going to be great!

I'm really so exited! :) i know it will be amazing i just and yes we are on the dining plan. I'll think a bit about maybe switching the akershus royal banquet to something else ( I will have to consult my six year old lol)

Oops I wasn't done and I accidentally sent it. I meant to say I know that it will be amazing I just want to make sure I know where to eat! :)

I know that a few other posters said they don't like OHana but I love the OHana dinner! But besides that I think it's really fun for kids because they have coconut races, you get leis, there's singing, etc. Also, if you go later in the evening you can view the fireworks at the magic kingdom. The food may not be five star dining but i think it's delicious - it's a HUGE spread of food which is good for kids of any age as they can pick from a bunch of different things (and good for the adults too!). But if you do go, make sure you save room for dessert - it's the best part! ;)

And I am in agreeance with other posters - definitely do Cinderella's Royal Table over Akershus. I've done both and I prefer the food at Akershus but the experience at Cinderella's Royal Table is way better - especially for the little ones and a first trip! The breakfast at CRT is delicious and I actually prefer it over the dinner.

I wish I had info on the other resturants - i'm headed to WDW in september and have reservations at Be Our Guest and can't wait!

Cinderella's castle- The food is good, not great. You are there for the experience though and for my kids it is a must do.

Ohana- dinner was just ok for us. Some of our party was very annoyed with the entertainment. We love breakfast there and it is a must do.

Chef mickeys- anopther must do, but not for the food. I prefer breakfast there. It is my son's favorite restaurant and likes it for dinner so...

Coral reef- dinner - we tried it 3 times and all 3 times was a disappointment for us. I agree with the OP though everyone should try something for themselves. We had awful service and food was just not good. I liked the atmosphere and that is wht I gave it another shot.

Chefs de France- our server was awful here, but will maybe try again in the future, but not on our next trip.

Be our guest- dinner, we will be trying

Akershus royal banquet - we really enjoy this restaurant. It is not a must do, ut definitely should try at least once.

You have chosen some fun dining experiences. IMHO, you should stay with what you booked originally. There must have been a reason you chose them. You will get positive & negatives for every restaurant here. Don't let others change your mind, including me.

You don't have an Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios ADR. Hollywood Brown Derby would be our top choice at those, but it's more expensive. There are more fun choices for those with kids. As was already mentioned, Tusker House @ AK has a great character breakfast & most people like their lunch & dinner. Dinner doesn't have characters. For a non-character meal, consider Yak & Yeti @ AK. For burgers, onion rings, & milkshakes, Sci-fi @ DHS is good with a fun Drive-in theme where you dine in cars. Mama Melrose was okay the one time we ate there, but we haven't been back. Hollywood & Vine would be my very last choice for TS. We've never tried 50's mostly because the heavy food doesn't appeal to me for lunch & we always choose HBD for dinner.

Personally, I wouldn't add another Magic Kingdom or Epcot restaurant. You have more than covered those. Constantly running to a park to make your ADR will make touring more complicated.

We love Ohana, it definitely gets mixed reviews but we missed it a lot this year. I think the food and meat are delicious and the dessert is the best, kids loved the entertainment.

Akershus food and interaction were good, my princess loving 2.5 yr old loved it.

Chefs was ok, I loved the French onion but got the beef short ribs due to great reviews here and thought it tasted like pot roast with noodles. Not even great pot roast, ltt was better IMO. I saw salmon and chicken dishes that looked amazing though.

I've heard not great things about chef mickeys, but we loved cape may and tusker house for Mickey characters.

Didn't get bog dinner but enjoyed lunch very much.

Coral reef food is very good, we didn't have a good view of the tank, maybe you can ask.

Character places tend to not have the best food on the site, but it is still decent food. It's more geared towards kids so keep that in mind when you are eating there. We love O'hana for dinner. We thought the food was very good. I agree with other people who say it depends on each person. Several places people love at disney we think is just ok. At AK I would recommend Flame Tree BBQ QS, its our go to at AK and is pretty much always busy. We've never had anything we didn't like there. Be Our Guest we had lunch there and it was so good and the atmosphere was amazing, I am a huge Beauty and the Beast fan. I can't say anything about dinner, but just looking at the menu the lunch menu options appeal to me a lot more.

Thanks everyone for all your opinions and suggestions!!!! I really appreciate it! :)
On a side note: only 29 more days!!!!
