We are coming to Disney in October. These are my Table service choices so far. We have 8 in our party-5 adults, 3 kids. The 3 kids are 10, 7 & 5

T Rex for dinner the first night

MK-1900 park fare dinner or BOG dinner

AK-Tusker House bf (what is the earliest for this?)

Epcot- Askerhus (sp?) bf early , hopefully before park opening

HS-Mamma Melrose dinner or H & V fast or Sci Fi dinner?

Our last trip we did BOG for dinner, H&V for bfast, Cape May for dinner

I can only comment on Mama Melrose (or BOG but you know what to expect there). We had lunch there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The pasta was good (very large servings) and I really enjoyed the calamari. It is probably pretty close to what you'd get at a place like Olive Garden. We reserved the Fantasmic package so the appetizers were included. We would certainly eat there again.

1900 Park Fare and mama Melrose are very good, T Rex is Just ok like TGI Fridays but the atmosphere is cool....never been to the other ones but have read here that they are very good also

Do you plan on doing 1 or 2 of those at Hollywood studios? I would definitely do sci fi. With your kids ages, they would probably enjoy that a lot. Unless they are into Disney junior, I would skip Hollywood and vine or go for minnie's seasonal dinner (Halloween themed during your trip). Mama Melrose is great, but it's the same food and atmosphere that you can get at any Italian restaurant. I wouldn't waste a Disney meal on it if the other two are experiences you would enjoy. On the other hand, if you're more into food than experience, Mama Melrose hands down.

Is the Fantastic package and extra on top of the Dining plan?
I picked T Rex bc my DD who is 4 is obsessed with all things dinosaurs right now !
1900 Park Fare seemed like a good choice on the character dinner. More bang for your buck

These are most of the restaurants that we love. We really enjoy 1900 Park Fare - Cinderella's sisters are so much fun.
We also really love Sci Fi - we enjoy the food - eat there each time we go. Our kids love sitting in the cars. Akershus and Tusker House are also both Great.

We just need one for Hollywood Studios. I'm trying to make a list out of what we want first and then second choices if the first isn't available. We've been to H&V before for bfast. I have all girls and they may can skip that one this time since they've done it before.

With all girls, unless they are into horror/sci-fi movies, do H&V for dinner. Classic characters in Halloween attire, and apparently they have activities and keepsakes that you get. I haven't been since they started the character dinner there, but it seems like a completely different experience than breakfast.

The Fantasmic Package is included in the dining plan. There are a limited number of Fantasmic reservations available at each restaurant each day and when we did it an entree, appetizers and desserts were included (I believe that is still the case). The dining plan normally does not cover appetizers. You also get reserved seating to Fantasmic that night. It is definitely worth doing if you are on the dining plan. You can check if it is available for your dates here - https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/hollywood-studios/fantasmic-dining-package/

On edit, here's some more info on the package - http://allears.net/din/fantdin1.htm. I didn't recall that you have to guarantee your reservation with a credit card but apparently you do, although the card itself is not charged at the time of reservation.

And on another edit, the Fantasmic dining package is available at both H&V and Mama Melrose. As I mentioned we liked Mama Melrose. I've read a lot of not-so-great reviews of H&V but have never been.

We just ate at Akershus for breakfast and loved it! The character interaction and kids' procession was great as well. They have a small buffet for fresh fruit, breakfast pastries, and cold foods, which was delicious and then they bring out scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, and bacon family style. We asked for more and it was not a problem. I totally recommend it!

OK, Its getting close to when I can book my ADR's and I"m getting nervous! We have decided on TRex for dinner, 1900 park fare for dinner, Tusker House fast, Sci Fi for dinner and Askherus for breakfast. When dining opens up, what order should I pick first? We have a party of 8 and I'm worrying we won't get these.
