My husband and I just booked at week in Disney for May. We made ADRs at places we have never eaten at before so it is very exciting. Right now we are booked at AKL, which is why for the first time we are eating TS at the AK since we will be close.

Breakfast at Tusker House
Dinners at Boma, Yak & Yeti, Sci Fi Diner, Tony's, Chefs de France, Biergarten, and Kouzzina

For counter service, I started looking into some places we've never eaten at before and just wanted some input
AK - Tamu Tamu
DD - Cookes of Dublin
MK - The Lunching Pad
Epcot - Mexico, Liberty Inn, and the UK Fish Shop
DHS - Catalina Eddies, Fairfax Fare, Rosie's, Studio Catering Co.

Usually the place we have the most problems finding CS at is at DHS. On our first trip to Disney we ate at Backlot Express & ABC commissary and didn't really care for either one that much. On our past 2 trips, the only CS we had there was Pizza Planet which we like, but the last time we didn't even get a table, we had to stand and eat and it wasn't a good time. It would be nice to have somewhere to eat at DHS on days we are there, instead of hopping to another park or DD just for lunch.

I LOVED Boma, as I am not picky, the rest of my group, (DH, 3 teenagers and DS) did not, but they are not adventurous eaters. We all loved SciFi...great burgers and shakes and we liked the atmosphere. We like Biergarten. The time we ate at Tony's (about 4 yrs ago) the food was not that great, maybe its better now. I also like Studio Cat. Have not eaten at the other places mentioned. One of my favorite places is Ohana. Have a great trip and enjoy your meals. :flower3:

Ate dinner @ Boma last year, was quite good. Did lunch @ Sci-Fi and it was ok. Don't think I'd do dinner there, but for lunch it was decent.

Cantina de San Angel (Mexico CS) was also quite good. The meat was a bit smokey on my tacos, but the Churros were great. If eating there for lunch, you get the added benefit of being able to eat in the Hacienda dining room, which is quite beautiful (and air conditioned!)

Been wanting to give Biergarten a try, but since I go solo, I'm not a fan of the communal table (I'm not a good conversationalist). Chefs and Kouzzina may be options for this year though.

LOVE Yak and Yeti. We enjoyed The Lunching Pad at MK. We never miss the fish and chips at Epcot. And we never miss Sci Fi. Not the best food, but the atmosphere is worth it to us. It's a great place to cool off and relax if you are there in the summer! Just don't order anythiing fancy. Stick to burgers, onion rings, and shakes.

I know Sci Fi isn't anything other than burgers & shakes, and we've been meaning to eat there for a while. We thought about going there for lunch, but it's the only TS restaurant in DHS that we will be eating at so we wanted to go for dinner.

As for Tony's, I've been told about 3 times not to go there - what is it that is so bad, is it the atmosphere or the food? That is pretty much the only TS in MK we've never tried (besides the plaza but it just looked like sandwiches) and we're excited about eating on Main St.

food was ok at best at Tonys and just to many other places i'd rather eat than get blah food. This was before i learned about the DIS, DDP and the Unofficial guide(which still pans tonys)

Since I have not heard anything good about Tony's, now I think I'll cancel it. Any suggestions to replace it? A few places we haven't tried yet that we considered are Via Napoli, Grand Floridian Cafe.

Heh, we loved Tony's ... ample portions, fast service and tastes good. We enjoyed it more than the Italy restaurant in Epcot. Haven't tried their new pizza place yet (Via Napoli). We also enjoyed the Grand Floridian Cafe ... good steaks.

The SciFi Dine in does seem more about the atmosphere than the food.

We love Boma and Biergarten! I definitely agree about Tony's--wouldn't go back there. The food and service were both not good for us. The Grand Floridian Cafe has good food, and would be a good option on an MK day.

We stayed at AKL Sept of 2009. Loved it(side note). Boma we've done breakfast and dinner both are AWESOME!!! Beirgarten is really good. Tony's food was meh. But we sat by a window and got to eat and watch the electric light parade go by. It was pretty fun. Was worth doing it once IMO.We've never done any of your other choices but I've heard good things about all you're TS choices

For CS at DHS, have you tried Starring Rolls? Just a couple of sandwich options but your pick of all those gorgeous desserts. if you want more than the sandwich, I agree to try the outdoor food-court-type places in front of ToT. Easy to window-shop and check the offerings; then you can each go to a different one if you like but still grab a table together. Only down side is that you are basically eating outdoors; weather can be an issue.

We loved Boma and Yak and Yeti. But our alltime fav is Ohana! Another quick service that we really enjoyed last time was Tangerine Cafe in Epcot.

My husband & I talked it over, and decided to change Tony's to Grand Floridian Cafe for our MK night. Thanks for all the suggestions :)

We LOVED Biergarten. It's the only place I *really* didn't want to eat, but it ended up being a family favorite. The food was awesome!
