Are there usually AP rates for December?

I'm staying at the Dolphin in August, but I already got a very good rate there. But I'm thinking about getting an AP at the beginning of August, because I want to use it again in Dec., and then May/June '08. It just seems way more cost affective than buying new tickets every time.

If we don't get an AP rate, we'll probably stay at ASMo.. but I am a deluxe girl and I'm slightly worried about that. I figure if I can get an AP rate maybe I can move up to a moderate or even a deluxe depending on how good it is.

So my question is, are they usually available in December and how much of a discount do they normally give?

Yes there usually are. However, this year there was a black out for the second week of December for about 5 days--we think it was because of the Pop Warner groups and the resorts were at capacity. However, they started again and were for checkin up to Dec. 20. Keep in mind that there were no more offered again until January. Of course, if you check in by the last day of a resort discount, the discount usually will continue throughout your reservation is available.

Yes, it was to 12/23!! We checked into AKL on 12/23 and had a GREAT AP rate for our entire stay!!

I stayed at the FW Cabins from 19-26th December and got $75 off using the AP rate. By staying on the last day of value season I got the cheaper rate for the whole period. I paid $164 a night plus tax. However, I have got a much better deal this year for the same dates staying at the BWV using the 40% off code (which I got from a link on this site, no pin).

We got AKL Standard for $134 night plus tax = $150.75; Pool View was $159.00 + tax = $178.88. We had one of each booked and ended up getting 2 awesome pool view rooms!!!! Savannah views were $214+tax = $240.75.

It was an great deal considering WDW's holiday rates kicked in on 12/20 (well over $400/night for Savannah view ).

I don't know if the AP rates will be as good this year or not, but look for them mid-October (that's when we booked in 2006) HTH!
