Are there TV shows you avoid?

I purposely avoid the Law & Order, CSI's and other crime scene TV shows because I know I'll probably like them and I don't have time to watch any more TV than I already watch! I watch NYPD Blue, Alias, 24 and a few dramas, but I just don't want to get started on others. I have also never seen an episode of "Survivor". I watch all the comedies I can - probably because the real world is scary enough - I don't need those eerie & violent dramas too!

Anyone else avoid certain types of TV?

Without a Trace

I don't like shows about people disappearing.

Several. I rarely watch Network TV, so it's not too challenging. Tivo helps, too. I tell it the things I want. When I sit down to watch TV, there's something recorded for me to watch.

Any reality show (okay, ocasionally we watch Dog the Bounty hunter)

pretty much anything that is not on the Discovery, travel or other such channel.

The only non educational tv I watch is Gilmore Girls, Monk, Dead Zone, and Billy & Mandy.

Fear Factor. Ewww. Actually, we hardly ever watch anything on network tv. The Gilmore Girls is the only show I watch on a regular basis.

We spend a lot of time watching the History Channel, Discovery, TLC, or BBC America.

That's a lot of money I spend on cable to watch those 4 channels!

My sister Cindy feared the dark after seeing a magician's assistant disappear

I avoid like the plague any reality show that has to do with dating, marrying, falling in love with a complete and total stranger, ect. I just don't get how people think/expect they they can fall in love with someone over a pre-determined amount of weeks AND on national TV to boot. BLECH.

OOPS..let me change that I don't avoid ALL dating shows..I do watch Blind Date because I think it is hysterical! I love the pop up word clouds, and the little cartoon guy that pops up every now and then. That show is a total hoot! But as for the rest of them, not for me!

Sorry don't flame me but I don't watch the Fox News Network for anything. I just don't like that channel. We don't watch any of the getting together shows or Survivor or Fear Factor. My dh would rather be ran up a flag pole then have to watch Lifetime Network. We like sitcoms and some dramas but really don't watch a whole lot of tv unless its sports or cooking shows on the weekend.

I don't watch any reality shows. I also can't stand anything on Lifetime.

NYPD Blue

I don't know what it is about that show, but it gives me a headache. It might be the way they shoot the scenes really quick going from one thing to another.

DH likes it, so when he is glued to the tv, I just come on the DIS.
To me the DIS is far more entertaining. ::yes::

I also avoid the news and any show that is a re-enactment of real life murders, rapes, etc. Too depressing for me.

I try to avoid CSI, but DH watches it and I always get sucked in. :p

Any reality shows. They're waste of time and not representing any reality at all.

Any reality show except Last Comic Standing, and I don't watch the part of it which takes place in "the house." In other words, I just watch the stand up comic part of it.

I don't watch Fear Factor because I don't like watching people have to eat disgusting things. I'm also not a fan of most of the shows on the WB network.

When I saw the topic of this thread I knew my answer right away. FEAR FACTOR!!!! GROSS, GROSS!!!

I can't stand the stuff they make them eat it just makes me gag thinking about it!!! BLECH!!!:(
