Are there Resorts you like, but realize you will not stay there because of something?

Contemporary and GF b/c of the price.

AKL b/c, though it's really cool, is just so far out.

I don't mind the theming and utilitarian nature of the values, and the price is awesome, but the noise and chaos is just too much for me. If they can somehow make the walls and doors more soundproof, I'd go back! ;)

I have drooled over the Grand Floridian since I was a child, but refuse to pay the price they charge for just a bed....If I EVER get lucky and find a room right around $200, I would jump on it!

I would love to stay at AKL but the fact that the only transportation is the bus I can't justify paying the same price as other deluxes with better transportation. I also have little ones still so we go for the monorail resorts only at this time.

There is quite a nice difference in price between the AKL and the monorail resorts. I have also read that the bus from AKL is unbeatable by any other resort because they don't share and they run very very frequently. Just some info I gathered while doing research on resorts.

For me, each resort has something I don't like but I put my priorities in order and pick the resort that pretty much meets all my priorities. The one that comes the closest is the Poly and we're staying there this September for the first time! CR was a close second but I wasn't too impressed w/the pool area & the construction turned me off (hopefully someday wel'll get to stay there), AKL was also a resort we almost picked but the construction and the distance away from MK was a concern. I could list all the resorts & what I don't like but that would be too long. I'm sure as my kids get older my hotel priorities will change & we'll find the resorts more suitable.

I think the Poly will be just great! I think if there were some villas at the Poly - I would love it even more!

I would love to stay at the Polynesian, but won't right now because of the lack at least one hot tub/spa. Seems like a minor detail for some, but having that is something I would miss and it's a lot of money to pay and not have all the amenities I associate with a delux hotel. Maybe one day I'll stay there though, ya never know...

Polynesian - I love the theming its my favorite theming of all Disney hotels but lacks my one favorite thing. The Hot Tub. I have tried the pool before whilst staying DVC and whilst excellent I missed the hot tub. The water jet area to the rear of the pool was not as good as a hot tub. I think ALL deluxes should have the option of a hot tub. I need it for my aches n pains.

I would love to stay at the Beach Club. We have eaten here several times between the cape may cafe and beaches and cream. We love the whole lock of the hotel inside and out the pool looks fun too. I like that it's walking distance to Epcot and a stroll over to the boardwalk. I don't mind too much that there is'nt a food court because we usually eat something in the room before heading out (although I have'nt stayed there I could feel differently doing so) but there is B&C and if I recall another lunch stand near the pool for burgers and such. We could'nt afford the hotel charges and I have considered renting from a DVC owner but it seems like a pain in the neck plus we could only afford the sun-thurs. fee and DH won't break up a stay he likes to settle into one place. Linda

No double beds for us ... at least until my kids are old enough that we'll get two rooms. Then I guess DH and I can each have a bed to ourselves.

My nitpicky things - reasons why I hesitate to stay at these resorts, but may do so some day:

1. Swan Dolphin: The location is to die for, but they do not take part in ME. Seems like I hear they nickle and dime people to death. I am also leery about being overcharged for room rates, which I have heard more of lately and then it is difficult to get it straightened out. However, I would be willing to take a chance if it weren't for ME. Sure I can use a town car, but I like ME. I think Disney should allow people to pay for ME and go to Swan/Dolphin (I know you can pay for Mears transpo to and from Swolphin, but I would rather chew on ground glass).

2. POR: I love this beautiful resort, but do not wish to deal with the bus service any time soon. I will probably be back here some day because it is gorgeous, but I am trying to avoid it at this time.

3. All Stars: I like to be surrounded by more relaxing foliage, but kids love these places and you can't beat the value. I am also worried about the sport/cheer groups these resorts attract.

4. CBR: only because it is the oldest mod and for no other reason. Well, ok, I am fearful that the bus service may be similar to POR. While I would stay here, I'd rather pick CSR or POFQ.

I should also add one place my family and I would like to stay, but I don't think we will because it's way expensive is the Royal Palm Club Level in the main building at the Grand Floridian. I think it would be amaizing to stay there because I hear it's to much better then their Suglar Loaf Club Level building, however the rates for the Royal Palm are way to expensive.

I would LOVE to stay at the Poly or GF...I think the only thing that's holding me back right now from it is the money!!!

We love the themeing of Pop and some of the other values but I am leary of staying there because of how far they are from the parks. DH really likes the BW area and the fact that we can walk to MGM and Ep ... I cannot even get him to try a monorail resort. So it looks like we will never get to see the other deluxes or OKW and SSR. :(

We loved the rooms / counter service and theme of POR, but everytime we have stayed we were put at the further most Alligator Bayou building (from the main building). It just was so far away from the gift shop/restaurant area that it made the mugs practically useless, and, while it may not be reality, the perception was that our bus stop was always "last" both loading and unloading. When my wife started having ankle problems this year, I switched to the Poly :ssst: (as a surprise to her and our youngest daughter) just because of the amount of walking. I should note that as a family of five, we either stayed at POR or a suite (or 2 rooms) at a value. No other moderate was really a consideration because we needed that extra bed for our three daughters. And yes we tried requesting certain buildings/areas everything, and just couldn't get anywhere near the main building.

We love the ASMo, but both times we have been there we waited almost an hour just to check in... It's like they have 8 windows and only 2 people working at the counter! The guy down at the Concierge window is just standing around twiddling his thumbs because he has no customers, but there are 50 people in line trying to check in. It was the longest line we waited in during our entire trip! :confused3

Also AKL....I am DYING to stay there, but we just can't afford it. The room alone for 9 nights is the same amount of money as our 9 night stay at CSR, with 8-day base tix, the DDP and airfare!

I have stayed at all of the moderates, except for CBR. And unless I rent a car(which I won't, I have a horrible sense of direction, and would get lost!) I will never stay there. They have waaaay too many bus stops!

Definitly AKL, it was the perfect resort with interior corridors, the savannah, and the pool. The only problems we had with it was it was so far from everything except AK. It took our bus almost 30 min to get to the MK. Also the food selection at the food court was extremely limitedand small. Otherwise it was the perfect place.
