Are there really any good restaurants in MK?

Hello,

We will be visiting MK in May. The last two times we went, we found the food to be just terrible. One time we ate at Tony's Town Square, and the food was absolutely gross. I am wondering if there really is a decent restaurant in MK. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Melissa

Not really.
1) mediocre at best.
2) go over to one of the resorts.
3) We do like the Plaza but we keep it simple with sandwiches and burgers.
4) Tony's is still pretty bad.

Crystal Palace is delicious at breakfast, but you can always do what others have said and hop onto a monorail! I've never eaten at the Grand Floridian, but Kona Cafe, 'Ohana and California Grill get my personal stamp of approval. Supposedly The Wave is delicious too.

Thanks so much! We're definitely going to Epcot as well and I know some people said they have decent food. What would you recommend? Thanks for all the help. It is so useful.

I really like the atmosphere here and the food is good and hearty. The vegetarian selection was really good.

Liberty Tree is pretty nice for lunch (not to be confused with the fixed-menu family style dinner), though a bit heavy for a midday meal.

If you're in the mood for something simple, The Plaza has good sandwiches and great ice cream desserts.

Other than that, the monorail resorts are the place to look for good food on Magic Kingdom days.

We like the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, and sandwiches or burgers at the Plaza are pretty good. I agree with some of the monorail resort restaurants like the Grand Floridian Cafe and the Wave (I heard good things about that one, but haven't actually eaten there). Although it gets mixed reviews, we tried Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge on our last trip and enjoyed it. And it's just a nice boat ride away from MK.

If you're at MK, go to the Poly restaurant and eat at O'hanas. The food is delicious to put it mildly. It's also very kid friendly. They have coconut broom races, teach the kids Hawaiian dances, and give them leis. The food is served family style, but if you have picky kids they will gladly serve them something more kid friendly. Another option is going to the Grand Floridian to eat at 1900 Park Fare. It's a character meal w/ Cinderella, the Prince, stepmother & stepsisters. The characters are great!!!!!! We thought the food was delicious as well. If you're at Epcot, one of our favorite restaurants is Akershus. It's at Norway. It has a castle feel, is character dining (princesses visit your table) and you get free photos included w/ meal. My girls love eating here more than at the castle in MK. We also love Le Cellier at Canada, though not a favorite of my kids. It's kinda dark and not really full of kid appeal but has wonderful food. Another fun place to eat at Epcot is Biergarten in Germany. They have a German band playing and a dance floor that you and your kids can get out and dance on. So fun!!! It's a buffet w/ lots of good food, plenty that appeals to kids and adults. Very fun atmosphere! Good luck deciding!

We ate at 3 World Showcase restaurants-- Via Napoli, Teppan Edo and Le Cellier. All were DELICIOUS. My parents just got back from their trip and would recommend Tutto Italia and Coral Reef.

I can also speak highly of the counter service in Epcot-- Sunshine Seasons has tons of choices and everything is delicious.

I'm sure there's a dud in there somewhere but as far as I'm concerned, you CANNOT go wrong in Epcot.

We really like Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. We did not enjoy dinner there. Dinner was a different menu.

As much as it hurts to say especially with MK being our favorite park, the TS restaurants are not great. They are simply ok-to pretty bad. A lot of people enjoy the CP and in my opinion that is one of the worst ones. Breakfast is ok, but lunch and dinner is lacking. The best ones we have eaten at are CRT and the Plaza, but still nothing special when it comes to taste. We have reservations for CRT next month and we are looking forward to it since we have heard the menu has improved and of course who doesn't love eating at the castle. The plaza wasn't bad, but you can eat sandwiches and burgers almost anywhere, so your really not missing out on anything. I honestly would suggest to go to Downtown Disney or one of the resorts for a satisfying meal. If you want to eat at a park, Epcot is your nest choice. :thumbsup2

We have all enjoyed the plaza the two times we have been and last trip we were all pleased with our meals at Columbia House
