Are there "real" king bed rooms at the YC

I have recently seen some pictures of king beds at the Yacht Club. I know the BC has Sico king rooms....which I don't like. So does the YC have real king beds.

The Yacht & Beach Club both have rooms with a sico king bed and a regular king bed. Make sure you specify which you want on your reservation.

As I understand, from our recent experience in reserving a room at the YC, the king sico room is a separate category of room that can be reserved. This gives you a guaranteed king-size bed. Otherwise, in a regular room, you can only request a king bed with no guarantee.

I'm with you...the sico room is unappealing to me, so we reserved a standard room with a request for a king room. Originally when we booked, my DH requested a king bed and they gave us a sico room. We called back and changed to a regular room.

What is the difference between a "sico king" bed and a regular or standard king bed?

We will be at YC in October and requested a king - now I'm not sure what we requested!

A Sico king bed is a room where the bed folds down from the wall and the room is layed out differently than other rooms.
I personally do not care for the layout of those rooms.

but I would be happy to have a king bed !! but I would rather have a good view of the lagoon so will take that over a king. We will see. We always check-in during the evening due to long flights so rarely get our requests except for non-smoking.

When the DW and I were down at YC in 98, we had a full king-sized bedroom and also one with two queens. It may have been a trick of the eye, but I'd swear the room with two queens in it was much bigger than the room with the one king bed. Just easier to manuveur in the room.

Personally I'd take the two queen room over the king. We were much happier with that room.
