Are there ever any discounts for New Year's eve week?

We are doing the land/sea and staying at AKL starting Jan. 1.

We want to arrive three days early, and I have enough points
with starwood for 2 nights at the swan/dolphin but what about
the third night. I can't find any discounts that apply, not AAA,
not entertainment, nothing, the same with the disney resorts.
$325.00 for one night at the Swan or AKL. Ouch that hurts!

Do we have to stay off site that one night to get a good rate?
Could we stay at the Sheraton Safari on our first night and check
in very early at the Swan , say 7:00 am to be able to take advantage of EE that morning (we don't need the room to be ready). Can I stand moving hotels 3 times, then on to the ship?

Any chance of a discount? Last year we did this, but the Swan was offering the entertainment club rate, they are not now, might they open that up later as we get closer ?

you might allow a TA to check for you. At times, I have been unable to get the educator's discount at S&D on my own, but my TA gets it for me right off the bat. Just a thought...

According to the DU site the educators' discount is n/a too.
Not that I qualify for it but I was curious.

I guess that time of year discounts are hard to come by, it's
just they had them last year at the Swan and then I didn't book until October! I wondered if anyone remembers the discounts coming out later?

I guess, I will have to get use to the idea of lost of packing
and unpacking, hey I am on vacation which means no cleanning
cooking or working, guess I can handle the packing

Last year the S/D did offer some kind of special rate around that time, but I don't remember if it was right before or right after New Years, and that doesn't necessarily mean you could get it this year. I seriously doubt that they would have conventions that week, but it is Disney's busiest time.
