Are there character appearances beyond those listed in the Navigators?

I noticed a list of character appearances in the Navigator. Is this pretty much the extent of the character appearances or are there unexpected appearances as well?

You never know when you will run into the characters. We were walking around the ship one day with our 3 1/2 year old DD and up the stairs came Mickey and Minnie with no CM's around them or anyone else. We had them to ourselves for a good 5 minutes- pictures, autographs, kissing and hugging. It was a highlight of our cruise.

Yes, the characters show up unexpectedly, such as when we were in an elevator with Goofy. The characters also go to the Kids' Clubs, and you'll often see them going to and from the clubs.

On the last day of the cruise, i realized there was a phone number to call to see when the charaters would be appearing (for scheduled appearances not listed in the Navigator) -- the number was very helpful for scheduling character meets, and we would have missed the princess autograph session but for calling that number (it wasn't listed in the Navigator).

Sometimes the characters will walk around the pools on Sea days. DS6 had his picture taken with Minnie by the pool and Chip-N-Dale showed up too. Capt. Mickey showed up in the Atrium on Deck 4 when we boarded so our son got some great "one on one" time with him while we were just walking around exploring.

DH and I were relaxing on Deck 4 the last night of our cruise and we ran into the cast from Hercules. That was kind of cool. Of course, that was the one time I didn't have my camera with me.

Yep. I literally ran into Capn Hook one day! And wouldn't you know...no camera! Of course he was practically picking me up off the floor after our collision. :)

What fun! Does anyone else have a story to share? Kinda need some pixie dust today.... ::yes::

We were in Shutters one night and Goofy ran through with his PJ's on - obviously going to the slumber party in the kid's club! My DH also spotted Capt. Hook as we were lounging on Deck 4 - Hook was standing at the port hole looking at my back and making faces - my DH thought that was great!

We found them everywhere! We walked on the ship, went and made Palo reservations and ended up on Deck 4. Guess who we ran into?

We ran into them a lot and it was MAGICAL!

We bumped into Goofy on our way to the Golden Mickey's show. He was all dressed up in his gold tux. We asked him if we could take a picture and he was more than willing. Then he blew me and my DD a kiss and was off.

We've also bumped into Cinderella walking around. You just never know where you'll see them. Especially on CC -- they were always showing up.

My wife ran into Mickey on deck 10 on our way back from Palo. He was on his way to the deck party on 9. Mickey stopped to visit with her and kissed her hand.

As for me, I went to see the ship's doctor and got a shot in the **** from the ship's nurse - who also happens to play Alice. Talk about a personal encounter. (And not a very magical one at that.)

:teeth:

I was quarantined after that and had the unique pleasure of staring at the CC dock all day long through my porthole the next day.

There are a few "character" boards around as well that have the character appearances listed.

We never saw any characters just roaming the ship unscheduled. We ran into Pluto by the pool, but checking the character board later showed he was supposed to be there. We saw some princesses while we were having lunch at Tritons - they were strolling through from the autograph session (and didn't stop).

We saw no characters on CC at all - not even at the photo stops - but we weren't looking for them.

You can call the PALS character hotline and get the listing of the appearances for the next day. Every night I would list all the of them and then go thru the navigator and include what we wanted to do to make up a little schedule for the next day. :) We saw everyone we wanted to and got everything done so I think that I will do the same thing this time.

One of the most special unexpected run ins with a character was Cinderella on Deck 4 on our way to see Nemo after our formal dinner. We had gone back to the room to change into jeans & the kids changed into their PJs...Cinderella for DD & Mickey Mouse for DS. The kids were walking ahead of us when Cinderella walked out of Shutters. She remembered DD from earlier that morning & made such a fuss over seeing her. She knelt down to talk to them for at least 5 minutes. I was amazed that she remembered both of their names from the autograph books and asked what they had done during the day. We ran into her at least once if not twice every day and she called them by name each time. DD was floating on air. That definantly made the cruise extra Magical for us. princess:

One day ds 10(at the time) and I were playing ping pong on deck 9. Chip and Dale walked by and stopped to play with us(thank goodness dh had the camera). It was truly a Magical moment for the whole family.

One evening after dinner, I was roaming the halls just exploring and admiring the art on the walls. I was alone in a hallway (or at least I thought I was!) and someone tapped my shoulder. I expected to turn around and see my brother, and it was Captain Hook! You can imagine my surprise! I almost screamed! It was so much fun! He gave me another little tap on the shoulder with his hook, and went on his way. I wish I could have gotten that on video. It would probably be really funny to watch!

I cannot wait till next September!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Captain Hook is a sneaky one -- the CM who plays him must have a ball. The Captain scared me while I was waiting to pick up my daughter from Flounder's one day -- I DID scream.

As an aside, I din't scream nearly as loud as the babies did when he walked into Flounder's -- he really freaed them out. That is one character that I would keep away from the little kids!

exactly what happened to us. It was really cool.

and Captain Hook stole my pen while waiting in line for Lilo and Stitch and walked away and my son went chasing after him to get it back. Hook is a fun CM.
