Are there any ways to get a discount on an AP?

Besides being a DVC member? I have a Disney Visa and AAA but I have not seen anything about any discounts with them. Considering getting an Annual pass since we are thinking of two trips this year and if we planned it right we could get a third trip in before the AP expires.

As suffieldhockeymom suggests, you can purchase a regular MYW ticket at a discount, use it, then upgrade it to an AP. By using it first, it becomes worth the current gate price, not the discount price. However, know how much the upgrade should cost you...some CMs do it incorrectly.

Some AAA affiliates in the south like FL and GA do or at least did offer discounted Annual Passes. Each region is separate so they each offer different discounts. Reportedly if you are a AAA member in any region, you can supposedly visit a AAA office in the area that offers them and get them, but you can generally only order online from your regional affiliate it seems.

An alternative way to save on ANY Disney purchase is to get the Disney gift cards from the warehouse stores like Costco, or Target (with the Red Card). You can save around 5% on the cards, and then use those to pay for the passes. You might have to purchase in person or call to use several cards though, as there is a limit to the number of payment types accepted online.
