Are there any other role-players out here on the DIS?

We've hosted about 15 of those murder mystery parties! Great fun!

DS and finace are very into the Camaria (I think I spelled that right). That is how they met.
He has played several different games over the years.
He may still play D&D also.

my DH used to be involved in RPG's...have no idea what though!

we've recently attended one of those murder mystery parties. they're lots of fun! we're hoping to host a few ourselves soon!

Well, I've been there since 1995, so I must've found something redeeming about it ;) Seriously, it is fun for those who are into Tolkien and/or RPGs. And hey, it's free, which is always good. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who might be interested :)

I hope I didn't sound condesceneding! I was running out the door to lunch and typing fast! I just meant that I just can't get as into online games and computer games as I can to live action ones, or ones where we all sit around a table. :)

I think they are really cool though, I just don't have time for them, partly because I KNOW if it is just me playing, I'll never get anything else done. :)

Not at all! I didn't take it that way. Just one of those things that I didn't really expect to stick around that long. That's all I meant.

My husband plays D&D once a month, and for the past year has been taking my oldest son with him. He (DS) is pretty good considering he is only 10. They have his character as a "teen", so it helps him fit into the story line a bit more. I would like to play, but with the younger two, it is just too hard. I also would love to do a mystery dinner type thing, that would be so cool!

My husband use to play Warhammer 40k. He is starting to get back into with my kids ages 5 and almost 7

One of the guys in our group plays Warhammer as well. I love the minatures and terrain that are designed for it!

Just a few weeks ago he bought my daughter some of the Sisters of battle cause she wanted girls.

My DH plays D&D every thrusday night w/his buddies and has for years. In fact, he's doing it right now.

Used to play D&D several years ago..since i moved out of the local area I lost touch with the group. Since then I have Played EverQuest. Truly enjoy the hobby, my husband and I play..same guild, same server. (tallon zek for those who play)

I have a 65 Chanter ..he plays a 65 Necro..along with his alt farm :)

Ahhhh..... Everquest. How I miss it. Actually, for some reason I've been thinking about it quite a bit over the past few days. I had to quit about 4 months ago because it was just too time consuming. If I wasn't working I was playing EQ.

I never had a char over lvl 30. I had alt-itis. :p

EQ2 sounds kind of interesting, but my computer won't be able to handle it without a major upgrade. I'm thinking it will be very buggy when it comes out anyway, so maybe it's better to wait.

This is partly why I don't really play the online RPGs. My computer at home is soooo slow. :(

I used to play Asheron's Call a few years ago, but my computer really couldn't handle it. Dumb, stupid computer.

My husband used to play D&D but I never did. We do play City of Heroes online which we sometimes roleplay in. :)

My son did play Everquest (for years) and STar Wars....has now switched to City of Heroes, which he is really enjoying.
My DD plays Everquest, but finds her computer is not up to the challenge sometimes :(

I have to admit, I am an everquest junkie. Been playing the one on the ps2 for year and a half now, the one on the computer b4 that.. really looking forward to eq2...
also, played diablo 2, city of heros and star wars galaxies for a bit but I am back on eq now.

gonna have to cut back on my eq time soon tho because the sims2 (not an mmorpg) will have my full attention.

I don't know if it counts but I'm a SIMS junkie and any type of game like it lol. My ex BF was into something called BattleTech. My current BF bought me a new PS2 game for my birthday - Ghost Recon: Jungle Storm which I'm addicted to at the moment.

I've been an Evercrack widow since the game was released. DH quit last year to play Horizons but will be going back when EQ2 is released.

He used to play D&D but there is no one around here to play with anymore and he doesn't have the time.

I could never get into it. I play EQ on occasion and think it's a lot of fun. I find people get a little too rabid with RPG and never got why you had to use the dice - it's more fun to just go with your imagination IMHO.

I used to, but don't anymore. I would again if I had the time, though. :)

I've done a little dabbling with D&D and Shadowrun, but most of my RP has been online in text environments called MUX or MUSH. Most of the characters I've played are in the X-men realm, but I did play for about 6 months in a Shadowrun world, and for about 3 in a Pokemon one. Actually, when I was getting my bachelor's degree, RP was my life. ;)

And, actually, my DH and I got to know each other through a Star Trek "sim" (RPG) that was run on AOL for *years*. We literally played there for 10 years before we finally got too busy (and I don't think it's around anymore, at least not on AOL). We got to where we had our own ship, he rose to the rank of Admiral, and I was a Captain (and only stayed at Captain because I wasn't willing to take on any more admin duties to rise higher).

I'm very interested in Everquest, but know better than to get started on it. I know that with my interest in RP, I'd be sucked into that game bigtime, and I can't afford it. So I've avoided it thus far.

I tried going back to one of the X-men games last year and really enjoyed it, but I don't have the time to commit to it any more, unfortunately.

So I write and DIS instead. :)

I'll admit it, I'm addicted to Dark Ages of Camelot. I started playing it while on bedrest with my DS. DH thought it would keep me entertained and boy did it ever. Then I took 2 1/2 years off because with 2 children, there wasn't time to play it. Now I'm back at it and squeeze a few hours in everynight when the kids go to bed. It is very time consuming and you get to a point where you acually dream about it if you play it before bed but I love it!

::yes:: Yep, that's me as well...I just know that if I got started playing EQ, I'd never stop...I'm REALLY glad that I was already married by the time it came out, 'cause back in my single Air Force days , I might have been too tempted to play to resist, and then where would I be? :teeth:

Played D&D all through college and into the Air Force...We actually played every other week in the AF with a bunch of Army guys in the same shop, with one AF guy (me or my roomate) and one Army guy alternating DM duties....Amazing, but our adventures always seemed to be more 'puzzle' oriented, while theirs leaned to the hack-n-slash :)
