Hi ! We're very interested into buying
some points at AKV - what kind of -
If any incentives is DVC offering right
now ?

Thanks in advance !

You can, of course, buy AKV points resale. Check out the timeshare store or google DVC resales. Points going for high $70s- low $80's. There are TONS of resources on these boards to help you understand the process, the cost/benefit and the things to consider before making a commitment.

Hope it works out for you!:rotfl::cool1:

Buying resale and saving $40 to $50 per point is a pretty good incentive. :thumbsup2

+1.

Even when Disney offers "incentives" they never equal the financial value of the resale market.

When you spend the time to understand the conclusion that all the options you get only via direct purchase actually cost more using DVC than simply booking them with cash, you finally get why so many of us really push prospective buyers toward the resale market.

In my opinion there are three valid reasons to buy direct.

First, the newest resort where a meaningful spread versus resale doesn't yet exist. Currently VGF.

Second, a small add-on (50 points or less) if you can't find the resort and UY you want easily at that point total via resale.

Third, for one specific resort where resales are quite near the direct price, and the contracts are few and far between (VGC). This last option understanding that the wait list is long, and one should keep searching resale while on the waitlist, but then probably buy direct if that comes through first.

In every other case, buying direct is literally throwing money away. Can you do it? Sure. It is financially reasonable? No. Not even a little bit. Which doesn't stop thousands of folks from proceeding with direct purchase of a classic resort every year. Their loss, quite literally.

Buying re-sale is a little more challanging if you are in Canada and not in an athourized province (Ontario, Alberta, BC). So that is a 3rd reason to buy direct.

I just got off of the cruise boat. The incentive was typical, back dated till previous use year. There was a good additonal incentive for Aulani, an addtional 25 points I think when you buy 150. It really just equals out the $1 more a point in dues.

I need to add on becuase of my thrid child but decided to wait and se if GF goes onsale when Poly comes out.
