Going to WDW next week and my cousin wanted to know if there were any big drops in SM. I havent been on it in so long I dont remember.

I wouldn't call them "big drops", there are more turns than anything else.

Yes, there are. If you've even seen a 'Wild Mouse' type attraction, you've seen Space Mt. That's pretty much what it is, but in the dark.

I would call California Screamin' at DCA "big drops". There's nothing like that in SM, the biggest drop might be 20 feet.

True. But I don't do those coasters, so big to me is about 20'!!!:lmao: It's all relative I guess.

I hate big drops and I don't think Space Mountain has any. (Of course, I don't know what it will be like when it reopens.)

There is one (maybe 2) moderate sized drop that gives you that tummy dropping feeling. Hope that helps! :goodvibes

I would say Space Mountain has zero big drops. It does have a couple of minor hills but nothing in comparison with a true roller coaster hill drop. Having said that, it still is a great ride.

It's the upside down loop that I always hate.:scared1:

There are members of my family who will never do roller coasters. Don't like the stomach in their throat feeling. Even somewhat hesitant about Splash Mountain. But they love Space Mountain. It is more turns than drops and hte drops are not like roller coasters where you climb, climb, climb and then go over and down. Much shorter quick drops.

To be clear for any new people reading this thread: there are no upside down loops on Space Mountain. The only WDW attraction that goes upside down is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Of course, during or after riding the Teacups, some people have been known to turn upside down and return their breakfast to Mother Nature, but that's an entirely different thing. :lmao:

There aren't any big drops, but I did read that after it re-opens (tomorrow, I think) the ride itself will be much darker so everything is more of a surprise.
